Silver Morning

 A  L  O  H  A
From
Honolulu
Silver Morning

Through silver clouds, the sun rises softly, reminding us that hope is never far away. Rays of light break through the sky to reveal the promise of a beautiful day. No cloud can hold back the light meant to reach us. Beyond every shadow, the sun is always shining. Brighter days are on their way. Beauty can emerge from anything. The morning sun teaches us that even the softest light can overcome the darkness. Behind every cloud, the sun is patiently preparing its glorious return.
And in the tender beginning of this new morning, the promise of renewal awakens in every waiting heart.

Let the morning rays lift your spirit, and fill your day with hope.

Returning Surely

  A  L  O  H  A

From

Honolulu

Evening brings love,
Night brings rest,
Stars lean softly
Against the west.

Dreams unfold
On quiet air—
Morning waits
With hope to spare.

Rise gently, wander freely,
Little quail
Hidden in the grass.
Where brush is thick,
The quail is clever.
Wise in shadows, seeds,
And sudden flight.

Ahupua`a are
 the traditional ancient
land divisions of
our Hawaiian isles.
This sign represents the
altar of stones (Ahu) marking the
historic boundary. Sacrifice of pig
(Pua`a) were placed
atop the pile.

Each Ahupua`a district
was like a slice of pie:
Thin inland atop the mountain,
broadening out like a pie slice
to encompass a stretch of coast.
The people of each Ahupua`a
enjoyed the bounty of
Mountain, Plains, and the Beach
with it's fish and sea vegetables.

Keep the fires burning!
What You lack today
Shall surely be
Returning.

Wrapped In The Ordinary

Holiness comes wrapped
in the ordinary. There are
burning bushes all around you.
Every tree is full of angels.
Hidden beauty is waiting
in every crumb.

Doors Of An Ordinary Day

Doors
Of An Ordinary Day
By Cloudia Charters

God is near.
But cannot be held.
We are given breath
and cannot keep it.
We are given a day
and do not know its end.
So we make small rituals.

At night,
we lie down and remember:
Keep me while I sleep.

In the morning,
we open our eyes
and say:
Thank you
for this borrowed light.

Leaving the house,
we pause at the door.
The world is wide.
May I walk in it awake.

When we return,
we enter gratefully
as if coming back
from a long journey.

Home is a gift.
The body a house.
This life is a doorway.
So the sages announce.

We come in crying
with empty hands.
One day we'll go out
with empty hands again.

This is not sad
though we grieve
It is holy.
God is the mystery
we cannot explain,
that keeps explaining us.

So we rise.
So we rest.
So we go.
Then come back.

And at every portal
God is waiting,
Waiting inside
and also enters.

So we rise
So we rest
So we go.
