A Floral Card

Today I am showing you a floral card. There is a little story as to how I made the background so read on it you are interested in that.

I don't have a hot foil machine. I have several die cut machines but none that I can use the hot foil machine with so I came up with another solution and to find out if it would work you need to try it right. So here is what I did to get that gold foil border on my background.
I printed a green colored digital paper from Nitwit Collections. It was from the collection Snow Family. I used my inkjet printer for this part. I found a nice border graphic on Creative Fabrica and I then placed the background paper I just pinted into my lasterjet printer and printed the border in black onto the background paper I just made. I then added a piece of gold foil onto the background paper and ran it twice through my heated laminator. I then couldn't wait to reveal it to see if my idea work. Guess what it did. It looks so beautiful and shiny. If in future any of my current machines will need replacement I may buy a Spellbinders machine but for now it works like a charm.

So and for the rest of the card I used the leaves of Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms Anemone set. I inked these with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain and added some pearls on it. The flowers I made some time ago so I don't remember the brand. I was giving glitter centers a try and I saved them to use later and they were perfect for this card. The white panel is from Papertrey Ink Reflections September die. I added some white sheer organza ribbon through it. The Love sentiment die is also from Papertrey Ink and I cut it out of gold metallic cardsock.

So that was quite a story to tell on this card. I hope this will inspire you to make your own foiled backgrounds without owning a hot foil machine.

A Lavender Get Well Card

Today I am showing you a get wel card I made for my stash. You never know when someone may need some encouragement.

I die cut a white panel out of the Folk Edge Rectangle die set of Pink Fresh Studio. I also made the slots using a sort of tuck it die to tuck the flowers behind. I don't know the brand for the lavender flowers. I die cut the whole flower in green and then only the top parts in purple. I then attached the top parts onto the green flowers. I did mask off part of the panel and then used some light blue ink of Card Deco. I added the flowers onto the card and added some tape on the back so the flowers won't fall out accidently. I stamped the sentiment but I won the set so I don't remember which brand it was from.
For the finishing touch I added some clear pearls to the card.

A Thank You Card

I saw some really nice cards in black and white on Pinterest and liked to make one myself.

I took a black base card and added a grey panel to it. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and added 3 blue 4 mm half pearls under the sentiment. I also stamped a script stamp with clear ink and added some white embossing powder to it. I still need to practise it so it looks more smoothly but we try as we go. I added a white die cut flower onto the little rectangle and in the middle I added a die cut button. I die cut the button about 3 times using black cardstock and glued them together for some dimension. I added a piece of crochet yarn and tied a little bow in the center of the button. I did pop the rectangle onto some foam and then added it to the gray panel. To finish it off I added a little white scalloped border to finish the card of.

An Anemone Card

Today I am showing another floral card made with beautiful anemone dies in a green and pink color theme.

I used white linnen cardstock for my base. On top of that I added a piece of digital designer paper by Nitwit Collections. The colors matched the colors of the flowers and leaves perfectly. The white frame panel is from Papertrey Ink. The anemones and leaves are from the Into The Blooms Anemone set by Papertrey It has all been cut out of white cardstock and colored with Distress Oxide Ink. I added a few pearls to the little branches. For the finishing touch I added a few pink half pearls. I decided to not put a sentiment onto this one because sometimes you don't really need a sentiment on it.

A Floral Card

Today I am sharing this cute floral card. I got the idea from the Papertrey Ink blog.

I inked up a panel with blue ink. On top of that I added a die cut pattern panel. I inked that up with the same color blue but more thick until it was the blue was dark enough. I then added the darker blue panel onto the light blue panel and I love the effect. It is almost like designer paper except it isn't. I added a white scalloped oval panel from Loved to Layer of Papertrey Ink. I also die cut the flower from the Into The Blooms Daisies set of Papertrey Ink. I cut the envelops from the snail mail set of Spellbinders. I added ink to everything for a more realistic look. I am still practising with the inking. I don't know the brand for the sentiment but I love it. For the finishing touch a few pearls here and there in matching yellow color.

An Anemone Birthday Card

Today I am showing you a floral birthday card. I will keep this for my stash of cards for now.

I printed a digital background paper from the Sweet Pea Lavender collection of Nitwit Collection. I used the newly released Into The Blooms Anemone dies of Papertry Ink. I added Distress Oxide Inks Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber to the petals. The centers are die cut out of gold metallic cardstock. I die cut the leaves out of a pieces of designer papers of Marianne Design. On the back they have solid colors and the green color was perfect. The other leaves are from white cardstock that I inked up with Distress Oxide Bundled Sage ink. I added the flowers onto two panels from Spellbinders Essential Floral Reflections. I die cut the largest panel from vellum. I then added the sentiment onto a strip of vellum. I added an adhesive sheet before I cut the sentiment and that is why I could added it smoothly to the vellum. I added a few white pearls for the finishing touch. For my base card I used white.

I will be adding this to the following challenge:

A Zinna Flower Card

Today I am showing you this card with lovely zinnia flowers.

I used the Into The Blooms Zinnia floral set from Papertrey Ink. I cut 3 of the smaller flowers in red, light and medium blue and darker colors for the centers. I added some ink to the flowers to give it some more dimension. The huge sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I die cut that out of gold metallic. It comes with a shadow but I decided not to use the shadow.

A Floral Card

Today I am showing you a floral card I made.

I inked the panel underneath the flowers with pink and aqua ink and blended them together although you can't really see that anymore since the flowers are on top of it. I used Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and Speckled Egg for that. I then die cut a bunch of flowers out of yellow and aqua cardstock and added a bit of ink in the middle of the flowers. The flower centers are in pale grey. I used sets Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms but I forgot which sets exactly. The sentiment is homemade and printed and I used a label die to cut that out. I inked the edges of the sentiment with black to make sure you would not see any white cardstock anymore.

Floral Birthday Card

I spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking for inspiration and I saw several floral cards with colored flowers on black cardstock. I really like the contrast it gives and ofcourse had to give it a try myself.

I embossed the black panel. On top of that I added 3 flowers and some leaves. The flower set is from Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms Dahlia. I choose pink and yellow. I inked up the middle of the flowers to give it a more realisitic look. I also added a bit of ink on the flowers. I added a sentiment from Marianne Design LR0750 Van Harte in gold metallic cardstock.

So an unusual color combination but very beautiful I think.

A Get Well Card

Today I am showing you a card that I saw on the Papertrey Ink blog. So this is not my idea but I like it a lot.

The flower dies set is from Papertrey Ink Into The Blooms: Cute As A Button. It is a nice set that can be used in many different ways. I don't remember who the designer is of the background panel. The sentiment I made myself and it says For A Speedy Recovery so I made it into a get well card

An Encouragement Tag

Today I am showing you a tag instead of a card. A dear friend recently got some really bad news about her health so I bought flowers and made this tag to go along with it.

The pattern paper is from Nitwit Collection. The tulips are from Lawn Fawn Terrific Tulips. I added some ink in darker colors then the colors of the cardstock so it looks like it has a bit of shade. I also drew some lines with a white gelpen. I tied the bouquet together with some white lace crochet yarn. The sentiment is made by myself.

An any occasion card

Today I am showing you a card that I made after getting the inspiration on the Papertrey Ink blog but I forgot who's the cardmaker was that I got the inspiration from. She used different colors.

I die cut a blue panel out of the Border Bling Lattice die from Papertrey Ink. The border frame is from Pink Fresh Studio. The geranium flowers are from the Into The Blooms Geraniums die of Papertrey Ink. I inked the petals with blue ink and the leaves I cut out of green cardstock that I inked with darker green on the edges. The scalloped oval panel is also from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment I made myself and translated to English it would say "Warm Heartfelt Greetings To You.

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

Thank you card

Today I am showing you a card looks simple and was really lovely to make.

I used a Waffle Flower stencil on 2 panels. I then cut the top on a bit smaller then the one underneath and this creates that lovely dimension. I also use a Waffle Flower cover plate to get that stitched pattern. As I liked the stenciled background I didn't want to cover it too much so I just used to sentiments of Carlijn Design that I die cut in black and for the shadow I just used white. For the finishing touch a few pearls here and there. If translated to English the sentiments say Super Thanks.

I will be entering this in the following challenges:

Guest Designer Card

So I have the honor to be a guest designer over at the Seize The Birthday challenge blog. The theme is to put a milestone on your card

In my country turning 40 is considered a milestone so this is the card I made. I got the inspiration at the Papertrey Ink blog. The flowers are from Papertrey Ink and are Into The Blooms Gardenia. I cut two strips and the used a strip die to make the stitches in the strips. The bow is from Concord & 9th. The number with outline are dies from A Pocket Full Of Happiness Disco Numbers. I don't know the brand of the embossing folder but it is a really large one and I just cut the panel down to size. The sentiment is home made and foiled with gold metallic foil in my trusty laminator. For the finishing touch I added a few gold pearls.

Another Floral Card

Today I am showing you a card that I am not happy with. I believe in showing everything even the ones that didn't turn out all that great.

I used the Graceful Anemone flower die by Memory Box. It is a really beautiful floral die and the flower I am happy with. However I wish I used a different more softer background pierced panel. The sentiment die is from Alexandra Renke which I like because some of the german sentiment dies can also be used in my language since we are neighboring countries and we have some similarity in our languages.

So as I said just wanted to show this also.

A Floral Card

Today I am showing you a floral card I made a while ago.

I used the Into The Blooms: Cute As A Button die set by Papertrey Ink to make the flowers and leaves. I think the oval panel is by Craft Passion although not sure about it. The sentiment die is from Marianne Design LR0749. I cut it in white and the shadow layer is cut out of vellum.

A cute lovely card that can be given for various occasions so don't know yet who is gonna get this one.

Beautiful Pansy Card

Today I am showing you a lovely floral birthday card featuring a beautiful pansy in spring colors.

The pansy is from Papertrey Ink Into the Blooms Pansies. I have used yellow cardstock and inked it with Distress Oxide to give it some more shading on the petals and the leaves. I also stamped some spots on the center using a stencil. I then added a little bit of transparent nailpolish and used that as glue to hold some gold glitter in the center. I added the flower arrangement onto Papertrey Ink Love to Layer Scalloped Oval. I added a green panel on the base card. I made the sentiment myself and then foiled it with some gold foil. For the finishing touch I added a few pearls.

Thinking of You Card

Today I am showing you a floral Thinking of You card. I got the inspiration from Papertrey Ink. The tulip is from the Into The Blooms Tulip die by Papertrey Ink. I used light yellow paper for the petals and inked them with Schattered Straw and Fossilized Amber Oxide Distress Ink. I die cut the leaves out of a light green cardstock and inked that with Peeled Paint Oxide Distress Ink. The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. I made a double satin bow with my bow maker and glued that to the leaves of the tulip. The sentiment is home made. I added some sequins in matching colors for the finishing touch.

A Floral Hello

Today I am showing you a floral card. I used only 1 single layered flower die that I die cut about 20 times to create 10 double layered flowers. On each flower I made sure the petals were curling down and on the top layer I made sure the petals were curling up. This creates so much dimension. I added some 2mm brown pearls to the center of the flowers. The card base and flowers are in off white. I die cute the sentiment in gold metallic cardstock and since I this die didn't have a shadow layer I just fussy cut a piece of cardstock around the sentiment. The panel on the base card is a sort of olive green/grey. I used the gold pearls in the corners for the finishing touch.
