Lighted Gingerbread Box Ornament

Good morning friends ~  I hope you don't mind me popping in and posting another 3D box ornament.

The class I taught a couple weeks ago went well.  Everyone went home happy with their make and some of them even went home and made more.  I had cut extra box pieces for my class, just in case, and we didn't have to use them.

I decided to finish the box ornament off with a gingerbread theme when I found this cutie little gingerbread from Cottage Cutz in my box of Christmas scraps left over from last year.  He's too cute not to be used.

Gingerbread Bakery

Hello to all!  I'm going to make an attempt to get all my Christmas projects posted and clean out my photo file.  Today's offering is a trio of cards made using Papertrey Ink's Gingerbread Bakery set.

I thought the chalkboard style stamp in this set makes the perfect menu board for all these yummy treats.

I bought this set last year and hadn't inked it up until this season of Christmas card making.  I added a tree from their Christmas Tree Farm set and the coffee cup is from my stash.  An older die from Impression Obsession.

The woodgrain background gives these cards a natural farmhouse look.

I had an extra chalkboard sign left over, so I added it to a snowflake embossed background and added some yummy desserts.

All sugared up!  The Plum Pudding is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the pie is from Spellbinders.  These yummy desserts make my mouth water for something sweet.

I'll be entering one of these cards into the following challenges:

Gingerbread ~ A Mini Album

Hello sweet friends!  I must have been obsessing on a sweet tooth when I made this Gingerbread Card because the ideas kept rolling around in my head, wanting to make more darling gingerbread themed things.

I made a mini album featuring more scrumptious gingerbread.  This giant mixing bowl made it's first appearance on the previous post for the Gingerbread card linked above.

I filled the bowl with a gingerbread man from Elizabeth Craft Design, a sugared up Candy Cane from Dee's Distinctively, a whisk from Spellbinders, some greenery and a ginger snap cookie.

I'm currently obsessed with the Gingerbread Baking Co. label from Blue Fern Studio.

A peek inside the mini album shows more fun gingerbread items, such as this fun little tea cup from Elizabeth Craft Design.  She's filled with hot cocoa and mini marshmallows.  The Hot Cocoa label on the right is a printable I found on Etsy.  The tab flaps open so you can add a photo and some journaling.

Look at what's hiding at the bottom of the tag!  A simple gingerbread cookie made using circle and scalloped circle dies from Spellbinders.  The faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps.  So fun!

Both of these pages have little tuck spots for photo's, ephemera or journaling.  Another one of those sweet printables from Etsy is tucked in on the right.  You'll see more on that below.

I found this polka dotted paper sack in my stash and made a little tag for more creative space.  The Plum Pudding is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

This is the little journaling booklet I made to tuck inside the tuck spot on the right side of the album, featuring another sweet gingerbread man from Cottage Cutz.

I adore how this mini album turned out, tied closed with a ginger spice plaid ribbon.

Gingerbread ~ My Favorite Color

Breath in slowly...
Do you smell that?

That's the smell of gingerbread fresh from the oven!

When my kids were young, they used to love making gingerbread cookies.  Cutting them with all the different shapes and then decorating them with icing and chocolate chips.

I whipped up this sweet gingerbread card using a gingerbread die from Cottage Cutz.  The large mixing bowl is from The Stamps of Life.

Gingerbread Baking Co.

Holiday baking season is upon us!  Can you smell the gingerbread baking in the oven?  I sure wish I could, because that would mean dear hubby and I would soon be enjoying some home baked goodness.

This card helped me use up some paper scraps and gave me the opportunity to ink up this sweet Gingerbread Baking Co. stamp from Blue Fern Studios, that I purchased last year.

Isn't it sweet in every sense of the word?  The Apron is an oldie from Elizabeth Craft Designs and the bowl, whisk and canister are from my designing days with Dies R Us.  I have amassed a great number of dies that are timeless in design.

I'm inspired now to actually bake some gingerbread!

Gingerbread Baking Co.

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, brown copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.  Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things."

I would add gingerbread cookies to that list!!   So when I saw the Christmas Kickstart Challenge was "Gingerbread Treats", I knew I had to play along.

I had recently placed an order for some of my favorite Marianne Designs Dies.  I do love their dies, and wish they were easier to find here in the states.  This Cookie Jar set is delightful, filled with windmill almond cookies, which are reminiscent of my childhood.

Each Christmas, my sisters and I would wait for the big box from my Oma in Germany to arrive.  It was always filled with our favorite German treats and these cookies would be included.  The Gingerbread Baking Co. label is from Blue Fern Studios.  I thought it would be a cute addition to the cookie jar.  I also added pinecones and poinsettias to make it festive.

Here is the Cookie Jar filled with Marleen's Gingerbread Dolls.
I used the basket weave stencil from The Greetery to add detail to the Cookie Jar.

And last, but not least the Cookie Jar with round cookies from the set.

I love the texture that is imprinted on the cookie when it goes through the die cutting machine.  I browned the cookies up using Vintage Photo DOX ink and added some Iced Mocha Pops of Color for the icing on the cookie, if you will!

I'm happy to enter one of these cards into the following challenges:

Tinsel Time Holiday Express ~ Spellbinders

Hello crafty friends ~ It's Tinsel Time at Spellbinders and I'm so excited to be a part of it!  Tinsel Time is Spellbinders newest release, and it is filled with super cute winter and holiday themed sets that are perfect to help you get started on your Christmas cards for the year.  Truthfully, I am woefully behind in my Christmas cards, so I really need to ramp up the volume and get making.

I was so delighted when I received the Holiday Express dies in the mail.  My dad loved trains so much.  He volunteered for many years, to be "Mr. Conductor" at the Maine Narrow Guage Railroad's annual Polar Express rides.

This picture was taken the Christmas before my dad passed away.  I cherish this photograph of my dad, my daughter and me.  It hangs on my refrigerator, and it brings me smiles of joy when I see it. You can see more pictures and read the full post about The Polar Express HERE on my blog.

My first card is a CAS slimline card, using a panel from Mini Slimline Envelope & Nested Card Creator die set.  I wanted this train to look like a gingerbread train with white frosting, so I cut it out of both brown and white cardstock.  I sponged on a bit of Gathered Twigs DOX ink to the edges of the brown pieces to look like the gingerbread was baked.  It turned out so cute!

My second card features the Holiday Express, Tinsel Time Sentiments and the Starburst Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.

I started by embossing the aqua colored background using Starburst Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.  I wanted to see if I could use the hot foil plates to emboss, and it turned out well, I think.  If I were to try it again, I might try lightly spraying the cardstock with water first, to avoid tearing.

I cut the train out of soft colors and added gold accents to the gifts in the train car.  I added some colorful sequins for the puffs of smoke.  All in all, I'm pleased with how this card turned out.  I love the pastel Christmas colors!  I could see this train filled with so many fun things, birthday balloons, animals, etc.  What would you put in the train cars?

I enjoyed creating both of these cards and I hope you will check out the full collection. Thank you so much for shopping with my links if you choose to. Happy crafting!!

Easter Basket W Large Handle ~Double D Challenge

Hello friends ~  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge today and the theme is "Things with Handles".
....Interesting!

I confess that I picked out my die before looking at the mood board.

I asked myself, what types of things have handles, and the first thing that came to my mind was this Woven Basket Pop Up Easel die from Poppystamps.  I did all the inking in the background and on the basket using DOX inks.

I filled the basket with the grass and leaf dies that are included in the set and then I added this sweet bunny from Lil' Inkers Bunnies & Bows.  I added some clear stickles glitter glue to the berries.

The big bow on top  of the basket is also included in the Poppystamps basket die.

I enjoyed working with this die set so much!  You may recall me using it in this post here for Dies R Us.

I also went on to make another basket card, filling it with Christmas goodies.

I had some Christmas dies that I put together before Christmas, left over and they filled this basket perfectly!

Here's a photo of all three basket cards together:
