Trick Or Treat ~ DD Challenges

Happy October everyone!  Double D Challenges is starting a new challenge and the theme is "Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat".  What's more fun to eat than chocolate?

I decided to make up two tussy mussies using some old cardboard cones I've had sitting in my craft stash for far too long.  It was time to put them to use.

I covered them with design paper and added a tissue paper fringe to the top edge of each cone.  I threaded some wire through for a hanger and tied a strip of black toulle for a bow.

The images were printed on my printer and fussy cut.  I then made a tissue paper medallion to attach the image to and glued the medallions to the front of each cone.  Fill them with paper shred and treats and oua-la!  A cute halloween treat!

I added a circle of toulle to the medallion on this one, to add a bit more texture.  I think I like the other one better.

Which one do you like?  The owl or the pussy cat?

I do hope you'll pop in at DD Challenges to see more fun creations from my talented team mates

Hi Friend

Hello lovelies!  I'm popping in with a card I made using up some scraps and a printable library card.

I had printed off several of these library cards on pink cardstock a while back.  You may recall this card I posted back in May. Well, in an effort to use what I have and use up some scraps, I came up with this card.

I had also printed a couple of these floral images for another challenge for the message board at ACOT.  I fussy cut the image out and glued it to the bottom of the library card.  The pretty flower on top is from Anna Griffin.  The colors matched really well.

I don't remember where the embossed "hi" letters came from.  Were they from a past 12 Kits of Occasion or did I use a hot foil plate to emboss a scrap of Ocean Tides cardstock?  I honestly cannot recall!  I blame it on aging.

Either way, I embossed a scrap of Ocean Tides cardstock with a different pattern, playing off the color palette of the greens in the printed flowers.
I like how it turned out and love that no new sheets of cardstock were harmed in the making of this card.

Do you enjoy sitting with your scraps and seeing what comes from them?

I'll be adding this card to the following challenges:

Psalm 147:11 ~ Guesting for WAW

I'm back with you this Wednesday as a guest designer at Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog, and I'm honored to be creating with such a talented team that brings praise and honor to The Lord.

If you're not familiar with Word Art Wednesday, it's a family friendly "Anything Goes" challenge that provides an optional Biblical Word art piece that you may incorporate into your design, but this is strictly optional.

The word art for this challenge is:

I printed the verse on Hammermill #100 cardstock and cut it using a dotted rectangle from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The Pinkfresh flowers were leftover snippets that I found in my die box.  I was able to use them to fill in some of the white space left over from the verse.

I do hope you'll take a moment to visit the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog to see more amazing designs from their talented team, and join in on the fun!  It's always "Anything Goes" as long as is family friendly.

Gingerbread ~ A Mini Album

Hello sweet friends!  I must have been obsessing on a sweet tooth when I made this Gingerbread Card because the ideas kept rolling around in my head, wanting to make more darling gingerbread themed things.

I made a mini album featuring more scrumptious gingerbread.  This giant mixing bowl made it's first appearance on the previous post for the Gingerbread card linked above.

I filled the bowl with a gingerbread man from Elizabeth Craft Design, a sugared up Candy Cane from Dee's Distinctively, a whisk from Spellbinders, some greenery and a ginger snap cookie.

I'm currently obsessed with the Gingerbread Baking Co. label from Blue Fern Studio.

A peek inside the mini album shows more fun gingerbread items, such as this fun little tea cup from Elizabeth Craft Design.  She's filled with hot cocoa and mini marshmallows.  The Hot Cocoa label on the right is a printable I found on Etsy.  The tab flaps open so you can add a photo and some journaling.

Look at what's hiding at the bottom of the tag!  A simple gingerbread cookie made using circle and scalloped circle dies from Spellbinders.  The faces are from Peachy Keen Stamps.  So fun!

Both of these pages have little tuck spots for photo's, ephemera or journaling.  Another one of those sweet printables from Etsy is tucked in on the right.  You'll see more on that below.

I found this polka dotted paper sack in my stash and made a little tag for more creative space.  The Plum Pudding is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

This is the little journaling booklet I made to tuck inside the tuck spot on the right side of the album, featuring another sweet gingerbread man from Cottage Cutz.

I adore how this mini album turned out, tied closed with a ginger spice plaid ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.  I'd like to enter this project into the following challenges:

This sweet polka dotted bird printable made this challenge super easy.

All I had to do was add some die cut hearts and a sentiment.
