Lofting is the experimental project of two longtime collaborators, Libby Ramer (keyboards, vocals, electronics) and Ben Billington (percussion, keyboards, modular synthesizer), brought together again for their first duo recordings since stints together in two larger Chicago bands: Moonrises (2008-13) and Partner (2013-15). Following the long slog of COVID isolation, the debut for their new project came together after Ramer shared a set of song skeletons with Billington to flesh out.

Recorded partially at Elastic Arts in Chicago and in their respective apartments, All That Leaves is a varied and inviting meditation on the transitory, with songs that are lush, honest, and playful. The title track, with its lyric "all that leaves suddenly green," alludes to the wisdom of loosening one’s grip on experiences that no longer serve us -- so that fresh life can emerge. Ramer cites Stereolab and Brainticket to describe Billington's contribution, while her influences here are more mysterious and gently opaque.
