Performance
The Nio ET9 delivers a maximum power of 520 kW (707 hp / 697 bhp) and a total torque of 900 Nm (664 lb-ft). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph).
Battery, Range, and Charging
The battery has a gross capacity of 120.0 kWh and a net usable capacity of 112.0 kWh, with a 8.0 kWh buffer (6.7%) for battery protection. The battery operates at a nominal voltage of 925 V, supporting high-power DC charging.
The lithium-ion battery uses NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) chemistry.
According to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) standard, the vehicle's range is 720 km (448 miles), with an energy consumption rate of 15.6 kWh/100 km (4.0 mi/kWh).

The vehicle supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of 600 kW. A 0–100% charge takes approximately 32 minutes. A typical 10–80% session takes about 14 minutes at an average power of 325 kW.
With five minutes of overhead per stop, the optimal charging window is 5–63%. Effective average power, including overhead, is 262 kW over a session lasting about 15 minutes and 53 seconds.
The Nio ET9 supports high-power DC charging.
In a 1000 km challenge at a constant speed of 120 km/h (75 mph) with an assumed consumption rate of 22 kWh/100 km, the trip would take about 8 hours and 45 minutes, needing two charging stops from 6% to 55%, totaling 26 minutes of charging time.
Onboard Charger
The standard onboard charger supports AC charging at up to 11 kW. A full 0–100% charge takes about 10 hours and 10 minutes with a suitable home charging setup.
Charge Port
The charge port is on the left rear side. This position suits charging bays where the vehicle reverses toward the charging point.

Bidirectional Charging
This model supports V2L (Vehicle to Load), allowing you to power electrical equipment requiring up to 3.3 kW of power, and even charge other electric vehicles.
Drivetrain
The Nio ET9 features an all-wheel drive system powered by two motors, one on each axle.
An induction motor powers the front axle, while a permanent-magnet synchronous motor powers the rear axle.
Suspension
The Nio ET9 has multi-link suspension, active hydraulic dampers, and air springs on both axles.
The suspension is fully adaptive on the front and rear axle, so height and damping can be adjusted manually and automatically.
The minimum ground clearance is 150 mm, and the maximum is 200 mm.
The Active Suspension keeps the car's body nearly horizontal during braking, steering, and acceleration.
Normally, cars lean outward in corners. However, the active cornering dynamics can counteract this roll, or even overcompensate, making the car lean into bends like a motorcycle.
The Easy Entry function lowers the car's body automatically when a door is opened, facilitating easier entry and exit. Once the door closes, the body returns to its previous level.
For easier loading, you can lower the air suspension from the rear.
Steering
Progressive steering is standard on the Nio ET9. It adjusts the steering ratio according to vehicle speed.
In addition, rear-wheel steering is standard, reducing the turning circle at low speeds.
Drive Modes
The Nio ET9 lets the user select different drive modes that affect the car's handling.
The driver can choose between 5 modes:
- Comfort: Comfort steering, suspension damping, and throttle.
- Sport: Dynamic steering, throttle, and suspension damping.
- Sport+: Dynamic steering, throttle, and suspension damping.
- Eco: Comfort steering, suspension damping, and throttle.
- Snow: Comfort steering, suspension damping, and throttle.
Brakes
The Nio ET9 is equipped with cast-iron disc brakes on both the front and rear.
The front discs measure 390 mm, while the rear discs are 330 mm.
Regenerative Braking
Automatic regeneration is not available in this model. However, regenerative braking is available through one-pedal driving combined with blended brakes.
At low speeds, the one-pedal drive mode will keep the car creeping forward.Drivers can also adjust the regenerative braking strength when lifting off the accelerator, choosing between three levels.
The maximum regenerative braking power is 300 kW.
Exterior
The Nio ET9, with dimensions of 5325 mm in length, 2016 mm in width, and 1620 mm in height, falls into the F-segment, also known as luxury cars.
The Nio ET9 is available in a total of 7 solid paint colors.
You can select from multiple wheel designs, all available in the same size, on the Nio ET9. The available tire and wheel combinations include:

The car has four regular doors and a boot lid for the trunk.
Soft close is standard on the side doors.
There is only one roof option for this model.
A large panoramic glass roof extending from front to rear is standard. Tinted glass reduces solar heat gain.

User Interface and Control
The Nio ET9 uses a primarily screen-based interface while retaining steering-column stalks and a limited number of physical buttons.
Behind the steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster, and on the right part, there is an infotainment screen.
Key screen details:
- Driver Information Display: A 10.2-inch screen mounted directly on the dashboard behind the steering wheel. This compact display shows essential driving information such as speed, range, and navigation prompts.
- Center Dashboard Touchscreen: The 15.6-inch touchscreen is located at the center of the dashboard. It serves as the main interface for infotainment, navigation, and vehicle settings.
A standard head-up display projects key driving information—such as speed and navigation cues—onto the windshield.
Steering Wheel
The Nio ET9 is equipped with a single type of steering wheel:
The steering wheel adjusts for tilt and reach. The adjustment is electrically powered.
The standard easy-entry function retracts the steering wheel automatically when entering or exiting the vehicle.

Lights
The standard headlights use LED Matrix technology. LED Matrix is an adaptive system that splits the traditional single headlight beam into dozens of smaller rays that the light controller can turn on and off individually. It includes corner lights that illuminate the side when turning. The LED headlights feature multiple LED segments, allowing you to customize your preferred daytime running light (DRL) signature.
The taillights use LED technology.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
The Nio ET9 offers standard and optional advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Safety Systems
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS): Standard on the Nio ET9. It prevents the wheels from locking during braking.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC): Standard on the Nio ET9. It improves stability during sudden maneuvers and on slippery roads.
Lane-Keeping Assist (LKA): Standard on the Nio ET9. It applies steering corrections if the vehicle begins to leave its lane.
The Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the vehicle begins to leave its lane.
Front Cross Traffic Assist (FCTA): Optional on the Nio ET9. It detects traffic crossing ahead when entering an intersection or pulling away from a stop.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA): Standard on the Nio ET9. It detects vehicles approaching from the side while reversing out of a parking space or driveway.
Forward Collision Warning (FCW): Optional on the Nio ET9. It warns the driver of a potential frontal collision.
Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): Standard on the Nio ET9. It applies the brakes automatically if the driver does not respond to an imminent collision.
Automatic Emergency Steering (AES): Optional on the Nio ET9. The system can steer automatically to help avoid an imminent collision.
Blind-spot Monitoring (BSM): Standard on the Nio ET9. It detects traffic in the vehicle's blind spots.
Exit Warning: Standard on the Nio ET9. It warns occupants not to open a door when it detects approaching traffic or another hazard.
Driving Automation
The Nio ET9 offers driving automation at levels 1 or 2, depending on the equipment level.
The Level 1 NIO Pilot Selected Pack system provides the following driving automation features.

The optional NIO Pilot Complete Pack SAE Level 2 system adds the following features:
- Lane Centering Assist (LCA) / AutoSteer: Centers the vehicle in its lane and adjusts speed in traffic. The driver must keep their hands on the steering wheel and remain attentive.
- Navigation-guided driving: Follows the planned route, including highway entry and exit.
Sensors & Cameras
This model uses cameras, radar, LiDAR and ultrasonic sensors for its driver assist systems.
The vehicle’s surroundings are monitored by radar sensors (five), LiDAR sensors (three), cameras (11), and ultrasonic sensors (12).
Safety
The Nio ET9 is equipped with the following airbags:
- Front airbags for the driver and front passenger
- Side curtain airbags for both the first and second rows
- Side airbags for the driver and front passenger
- Side airbags for the second-row passengers
- A front-center airbag that reduces the risk of the driver and front passenger colliding with each other during a side impact
The front and rear seatbelts are equipped with pyrotechnic pretensioners and load limiters. In the event of a collision, the pretensioners tighten the seatbelts to secure occupants firmly in their seats, while the load limiters allow a controlled amount of webbing to extend, reducing the risk of injury from excessive force.
Security and Access Technologies
The Nio ET9 includes the following security and access features:
- Keyless Entry and Start: Unlock and start the car with the key in your pocket or bag.
- Phone-as-Key Functionality: Use your smartphone as a digital key to unlock and start the vehicle.
- Alarm System: Monitors for unauthorized entry or tampering and sounds the alarm when triggered.
- Integrated Dashcam: Records video while driving.
- Parking Surveillance: Uses the vehicle's cameras to monitor its surroundings while parked.
Cargo Capacity and Towing Ability
The trunk offers a cargo capacity of 363 liters (12.8 cu ft).
The maximum roof load is 100 kg (220.5 lb).
Optional roof rails are available for easy mounting of a roof box or rack.
The frunk (front trunk) has a capacity of 105 liters (3.7 cu ft).
The maximum permitted vehicle weight is 2900 kg (6393 lbs), and the base curb weight is 2379 kg (5245 lbs). This leaves a payload of 521 kg (1149 lbs), including occupants. Options can increase curb weight and reduce payload.
This model is not available with a towbar and cannot tow a trailer.
