Looking Sharp!

Hello everyone! I hope all our US friends had a very nice Thanksgiving holiday.

Today I have a 5 x 7 card featuring cactus and succulents. This is an image I colored with markers and then used Eyelet Outlet products to take it up a level. It's so easy to do with EO brads, bling and washi tapes!

I used Cactus washi tape on green cardstock to create the top and bottom border of this card. Pearl and jewel bling add a bit of sparkle, while the Cactus Brads add just the right enhancements to the card to make it special.

Holiday Pop Up Greeting!

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving week! With it being so late, I'm feeling the need to really kick my holiday card making into high gear. I need to make cards that are quick and look like it took more time than it did. I have a die set that makes an easel card and I have some nice quality holiday ephemera. Using the die set and ephemera makes quick work out of a complicated looking card base and the ephemera means I don't have to do any coloring or other time consuming prep.

This card folds flat but then pops up into an easel card which reveals more decorations inside. I used three different patterned papers in the same color way to further add interest and color. It's embellished  with several Christmas brads, glitter washi tape, and lots of bling from Eyelet Outlet. Using EO embellishments adds a lot to your cards without adding a lot of time. You can't ask for more! The washi border and mat for Santa was easy to do with the included dies in the card set. My short cuts still made an elegant card that I'll be proud to give it to any of my friends and family.

Cutest Little Pop-Up Christmas Tree Card

Let’s start off on the front of the card. The red base is embossed in little polka dots with two die cut scalloped-edged cut outs which was the perfect place for the Happy Holidays chipboard sentiment. The cute Christmas tree is embellished with multiple Cut Jewel Bling in red, clear, green, purple, orange, blue and champagne. I also used Red Swirl Bling to add more shine and movement to the card. You will also notice clear Jewel Bling on the front as well.

Once you open the card, you will see the most festive 3D Christmas tree that pops up right from the middle of the card. The adorable Christmas tree is dazzled with multiple sizes of Jewel Bling in red, light blue, orange, green and purple. They look like little Christmas bulbs when the light shines on them!  The Christmas tree skirt has Black Bling highlighting its edges.

I used of farmhouse style ribbon in black and white with a Large Black Bumpy Bling in the center of each hand tied bow.  Unfortunately, I think the black bumpy bling sold out when I was making this so I attached a link to the clear bumpy bling which would be just as pretty!

The Merry Christmas sentiment is bejeweled with Green Jewel Bling. And to top off the card on the left-hand side, I added some beautiful Black Swirl Bling to add extra light and movement. You all have awesome taste because it looks as though the Black Swirl Bling is sold out, as well.  I linked to the Green Swirl Bling as that was my second choice when making this card.  It will look beautiful!

As you can see, using Eyelet Outlets bling’s will always make any card sparkle, shine, and glitter. Make sure you always have enough bling on hand to spruce up any card you are sending.

I hope you enjoyed this week's card, and I cannot wait for you to see next weeks project.

Have a wonderful week and always be STRATE-UP CRAFTY!

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Part 2

The Studious Owl Note Pad holder is the perfect gift for your favorite teachers.

Her entire body is made from layering the Brown Glitter Washi Tape which gives her a perfect amount of owl sparkle. Her pupils are two black Bumpy Bling jewels and the jewel on her tassel is a Silver Edged Stippled Brad.

To make sure she can read every word in her Explore book from the Bicycle Brads, she is wearing her ever-so-fashionable reading glasses from the Eyeglasses Brads.

Lift up her head and you will find a special pocket that fits note pads or sticky notes. Oh, and if you need a ruler, this owl has you covered!  The inside is trimmed with the Tape Measure Washi Tape.  HOW CUTE IS THAT?!?!

Our last but definitely not least piece is for that very special bus driver.

Unfortunately, they sometimes bus drivers get overlooked so we need to try to always recognize what they do and how we appreciate them.  Imagine their face as your little hands them this card shaped like their school bus!

The two children on the bus are so excited to get to school because the bus driver makes it a fun ride.  The two Bumpy Bling headlights are leading them safely to school.

I loved making this Back to School/Teacher Gift collection as it reminded me of when my babies were still in school and all the fun we had!

I hope these inspired you to create something special for the teacher and bus driver in your life.  There’s nothing better than bringing a smile to someone’s face and with a little help from Eyelet Outlet, you can do just that. 😊

Have a wonderful week and always be STRATE UP CRAFTY!

Washi Tape Masking with MISTI Gel Press Plate Printing

Today I'm going to share with you cards I made using a stamping and masking technique using Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape, my Gel Press Plate and My MISTI.

I started with a piece of 4 1/2" x 6" watercolor paper.  I attached my 5" x 7" Gel Press Plate to my MISTI and stamped it several times using Yellow Ink to create the base.

Next I attached Glitter Washi Tape to create my grid design (I used glitter washi tape because it came in three different widths and it resisted the ink very well).  After it was attached, I inked my Gell Press Plate with Blue Ink and stamped until I had good coverage (which created the fun green when the two inks combined).

I removed the tape, which left the yellow stripes below.  I also took a Ghost Print, which is stamping on a second piece of Water Color Paper with the ink that was left on the Gel Press Plate, which creates sort of a reverse pattern since there was more ink where it didn't sink into the Washi Tape.

Final step was to make some fun cards.  Sentiments are perfect to stamp in the Washi Tape resist lines.

Here's my first card featuring a sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Crafty Ladies together with a Triangle Brad & a Super Hero Saying Brad (because Crafty Friends are Super Heroes).
For the Ghost Print, I stamped a large bold sentiment from EBE Crafty Ladies and added two different widths of Black Glitter Washi Tape along the washi lines in the background.

I embellished with an Eyelet Outlet Paper Flower (topped with a smaller flower from my stash) and piece of black bumpy bling for the center.

Here's one more I made also combining some Wide Washi Tape to provide a wider area for sentiment stamping.

This sentiment is from Joy Claire Hello Sentiments.  I added some Gold Glitter Washi Tape to frame the sentiment and finished with Pink and Maroon Glitter Enamel Dots.

Little Black Purse

Hi Everyone!
It's Nancy from Kandykrazee, and I am so excited  to be here as a Design Team
member with my first post on the Eyelet Outlet blog!

For my project, I decided to make this super cute clutch from SVG Cuts!

I used the clear bumpy bling and the clear bling on the flap of the purse,
and on the front of the bag, I used the black pearl bling strips.  These super long
strips are great, so much easier than attaching them one by one!

To attach the purse strap, I used a couple of black stippled Jewel Brads!

Deck the Halls

Warm winter greetings, Eyelet Outlet fans, it's Lauren here with a super-fast project that would make a great last minute holiday gift OR maybe a bit of decor for your own home?

When I found these triangular balsa wood trees in the clearance section of a big box crafting store, I immediately pictured them covered in Eyelet Outlet Paper FlowersSwirl Bling and Bumpy Heart Bling, and I seriously could not get them into my cart fast enough! Of course, if you have the tools, they'd be easy to create from scrap wood. For that matter, a few pieces of nice thick cardboard cut into triangles would work equally well; you could even draw some triangular shapes on a card or canvas and make the surrounding areas "background"! Whatever materials you choose, the method will be the same:

Cover your triangles with torn scraps of sheet music, text paper, old dictionary pages, etc. Use a high quality gluestick to get thorough, edge-to-edge coverage on your papers, and if you're working with 3D wooden shapes, a little coat of gluestick on the wood, as well, gives you extra adherence. Wrap the papers around the sides, the back, and onto the base, smoothing out any bubbles or wrinkles as you go. When your trees are covered, decide where you'd like to place your embellished Paper Flower stacks. This will help determine where your doilies should go... if you're using doilies, that is! To adhere doilies or any lacy, fragile items, use the gluestick again, but apply with an up and down "dabbing" motion, since sliding the gluestick can result in tearing the paper. Add the paper flowers strategically, so they will become the focal point of each tree. Since each Eyelet Outlet Solid Color Paper Flower Pack has forty flowers, in three graduated sizes, you'll be able to make each stack multi-layered. Place a Bumpy Heart Jewel in the center of each stack. Finally, add Clear Swirl Bling around the flowers for maximum drama. I love that these come on a clear plastic backing sheet, which makes it easy for me to move them around before deciding exactly where they should go. Feel free to trim or rearrange bits of the flourishes to fit your design better!

Not a big fan of collage? Cover your trees with patterned paper, giftwrap, paint or Holiday Washi Tape! Then fancy them up with flowersbling, pearls, brads or... well, whatever Eyelet Outlet embellishments you love most!

Whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice or Festivus, I wish you a wonderful weekend full of family, friends and maybe even a handmade gift or two! ♥♥♥

Lauren Bergold's husband is lobbying strongly to keep these embellished trees at their house...
and she's pretty sure he will be successful in this! :)
