The Greats

Our Great Grandchildren are GREAT. Here are some recent photos of them at the wedding.  They are growing like little weeds.  They all belong to our Granddaughter Maddie and her husband Brenton.

Hey Mikey!

Cee Cee calling for her brother.

It was difficult waiting around for photographs.  Uncle Andy was explaining about patience and how it is hard sometimes but we don't get everything we want.

After the photographs the children went back to the motel with their babysitter.  It was a hard day for them being away from their Mom as she was busy being a Matron of Honor.

2nd grade!

Our Great Grandson Hey Mikey begins 2nd Grade.  School started yesterday in North Dakota.

I hope he likes 2nd Grade as much as I did.

My 2nd grade teacher was a neighbor lady by the name of Mrs. Z. she was a gifted kind teacher.  I believe the worst thing I did in 2nd Grade was talking too much in the lunch room...imagine that!  There were 19 children in my classroom back in 1958.

Have a great year Hey Mikey!!

Our oldest Great Grandson rides a dirt bike and a quad.  He was in age appropriate races at a County Fair.  Yes he wears a helmet too!

Here he is with his youngest sister Peach.

Little Valentines

We had belated Valentines here one evening as the Great Grandchildren needed a babysitter or two when their parents went out to a company party.

I had Valentines gifts for them that I bought a few weeks ago. Gotta love the dollar store that is now a dollar twenty five.

Ree was having a bit of stranger danger.  Her Mom calls her Peach.

Cee Cee

Big smiles from Cee Cee and Hey Mikey.

They had a fun night, Cee Cee  ate all her brothers valentine candy and put hers in the fridge for the next time she visits.  They played video games and had snacks.

Greats

Our Great Grandchildren or "Greats" were here on Monday morning, their school and day care were closed due to the holiday yesterday and their Mommy had to work part of the day.  Thankfully Jen and Andy had the day off.  Andy made them bacon and French toast for breakfast and for lunch hot dogs and mac and cheese.

They can sure liven things up around here.

Hey Mikey snd Cee Cee did a fair amount of goofing off during their photo session with me.

Hey Mikey with Ree...she is working on getting some teeth.  She is very entertained by her siblings.

After they left I had a long nap.

More smiles and June

Maddie sent photos of our Great Grands with their May Baskets!

Auntie Jen must have delivered them as I left them at her place when I had my dental work done.

BTW my stitches finally dissolved and are no longer driving me partially nuts!

June is still hanging around.

letter

I sent Hey Mikey a letter...and he liked it!

Hey Mikey. I heard you were losing your teeth!  Are you pulling them out yourself?

I hope you are being good on the bus and listening to your Mom.

I am still a little crabby because I am old.

Great Grandpa says Hi and thanks for the letter.

Buy some ice cream and share with your sister.

Love you!  Crabby Great Grandma H.

Maddie messaged me to say he loved his letter and he would share with his sister " but only a little bit."

Male Mail

Far Guy got a letter from Hey Mikey.  It made him smile.

It is a keeper.  Hey Mikey and CeeCee had a snow day at Uncle Andy and Auntie Jen's house one day last week as they had a snow day when their parental units had to still go to work.

The Little Great Grands

I get to see the Great Grands and three of the Grands on the nights that we clean at the Air B & B.  It is a great cleaning crew.   Since I clean the kitchen the two Great Grands sit by the counter in the kitchen and have snacks.  Snacks are not allowed elsewhere in the house.  They are getting used to my rules.  ( When they run out of snacks a spoonful of peanut butter keeps them busy.)

One night when they were visiting here, I had them in the kitchen sitting by the counter eating bananas and fruit snacks ...and chocolate milk.

Hey Mikey wanted to leave the kitchen with his snack...I told him "NO" he asked "Why can't I go?"  I replied "Because I have rules and I am a mean old Grandma" ....he agreed and stayed to finish his snack.  He proceeded to tell Far Guy that I had too many rules and was a mean Grandma...and Far Guy said "Well I love her!"  Hey Mikey said "WHY?"

Both of the Great Grands are getting used to me and call me Grandma now.  It has been fun to see them nearly every week.

Cee Cee is almost potty trained now!  They are both growing like weeds.

Halloween Report

We had two families of Trick and Treaters.   I am related to them all as they are my nieces children.

These are  Megan's children.   I offered to keep the littlest and he said "NO."  We had a very nice day...it was warm for this time of year!

We sent home candy for the oldest child who didn't come.  These are Stacey's children and her husband...and yes they are expecting a baby in January...we are very excited to meet this little boy or little girl!

Fun to see everyone who stopped by!

Maddie sent photos of our Great Grandchildren; Hey Mikey and Cee Cee.    Jen sent a video of when they stopped at her place and we got to hear them say Trick or Treat!

Hey Mikey was Sonic the Hedgehog.

Little Miss Cee Cee was a baby shark.

What a fun day for children and for old folks!

Hey Mikey! : First Day of School

It was our Great Grandson's first day of school last week.  He was a bit apprehensive because he wouldn't know any of the kids there.  His Mom told him that all the kids there were new to school.

Maddie took him the first day...he became shy and hid behind her grabbing onto her leg.

It was not going well.

A little girl with pink glasses and very blue eyes named Megan walked up to Hey Mikey and said " It is my first day too...do you want to go with me?"  They walked off together and are good friends after the first couple of days at school.

From now on he will ride the bus from daycare to school and back again at the end of the school day.

He is growing up!

Oh and Little Miss Cee Cee didn't think she should go to daycare without her brother and pitched a fit!

5

Hey Mikey is five years old today.  That sure happened fast!

He had a pool party last weekend in the Cities and will most likely have cake again in Michigan.

We don't get to see him often.  I sent a birthday card and hope it arrives in time...nice to get mail when you are 5 years old.

Happy Birthday Dude!

The Two and the Five

We celebrated Christmas yesterday here with all of our Grands and Great Grands!

The two Great Grands took turns putting the star on the tree with a little help from Uncle Andy.

These two or four

We had a small get together with some Grands and our two Great Grands.   So good to see them all again!

Great Grands are growing like weeds.

These are busy little kids.  Hey Mikey loves chocolate milk and celery.  Cee Cee or Miss Sassy Pants has found her voice mostly to command her mother's attention with a loud MOM!

Hey Mikey is playing Hockey now and his Mom reports he is skating better than last year.  He is 4 1/2 years old.

Cee Cee is 20 months old.  I told her she needs to go potty in the big girl potty..she said NO.  However she laid real still when I changed her poopy diaper after her parents were going to do rock paper scissors for the honor.

Maddie and Cee Cee

 Savannah and Cee Cee

Adam had to work.  Noah was not feeling well.  Paige was celebrating Thanksgiving with her Beau.

We appreciate all our Grands and enjoy spending time with them.  We played the game Splendor and of course played with the littles and watched the Hockey game...and had a marvelous spread of snacks.

Snow and Great Grands

Yesterday we had a weather event.  Snow/sleet fell on Sunday afternoon.   Our first snow this Fall.

If I had been napping I would have missed it.   It melted quickly.

Maddie sent me photos of our Great Grands on Halloween!

Cee Cee after running around , falling down and getting a dirty face!

The scratch on her cheek is from a kitty cat...I think she grabbed the cats tail.

We missed Adam (he had a stomach ache) and Miss Paige who is away at school.

Holding the Great Grands

Saturday we travelled up North to see everyone, our Grand Maddie was visiting from Michigan.   Our two Great Grandchildren we there along with our five Grands.  We got hugs!  AND got to hold our newest great grand who was born during the pandemic...Cee Cee is 15 months old now.

Cee Cee in the little pig tails!

Hey Mikey who has just turned  4 years old a few weeks ago.

I think there was a tickle bug loose.

They were both interested in my glasses on the sparkly chain.

So fun to see everyone and to catch up with all of our loved ones!   We all went out to lunch and the old folks were home well before dark!
