26

Our oldest Grandson Noah is 26 years old today!  They grow up so fast!

Back in October of 2000 he was 17 months old.

Noah with his very young looking Dad, that is Noah's Great Grandmother ( my Mom) holding out her hands for Noah to come.  I am not sure he did as he was a shy kid.

Happy Birthday Noah, we hope you have the best day/year ever!

Love you always and forever!

25 plus one day

Noah was 25 years old yesterday, I must have been off in la la land, or forgetful city.

Anyways our oldest Grand Noah is now 25 years old plus one day.  We celebrated with him last week, we went out to his favorite Mexican Place!  We had a good visit and he talked about his work and a very scary project that he thought was the best thing ever...I believe he said he was up 360 feet in the air and he would do it again!  He is happy with his job and is looking to buy a house.

Photo of Noah and his dog Aurora taken last December

Happy Birthday Noah, I hope you had the best day ever! We are so proud of you!  Love you always and forever!

23

Our oldest Grandson is 23, his birthday was yesterday.

One day last winter, he came over and asked his Mom to shave his head...so she ran the hair clippers over his head and then I shaved  his head.

I warned him that his head was going to be cold!

He let his hair grow back little by little.   He said he enjoyed being free of hair care for a time.

Happy Birthday Noah!

I should have written about his birthday yesterday but it snuck up on me much like his zooming from birth to 23.

Outing

We drove up North and a bit West to see Noah for his Birthday!

He posed for the birthday photo!

We visited and then went out to Lunch at Noah's favorite Mexican place.  The food was excellent and the company awesome...Noah, Adam, Jen and Andy.   We also had some marvelous cupcakes that Jen bought at a specialty bakery...I had the to die for Turtle Cupcake...dark chocolate with a caramel center!

We got to meet Noah's puppy a Shiba inu/American Eskimo Mix sometimes called a Imo Inu named Aurora and Adams rescue cat Phoebe (Calico)...no photos I wanted to just meet them.  Of course we got to spend some time with Little Elvis too...he still loves us.

I finally got to hug both of my grandsons!  They have both been vaccinated!

Far Guy did okay...he helped drive...he said that is the easy part just sit and steer.  He is still not back to normal activity and is plagued with the shortness of breath.  We needed a day away...and this was a perfect outing!   We have looked forward to it for a long time!

The old blue milk can has been transformed!  I still have all the contents of the milk can project ready to spin...someday.

22

Our oldest Grandson Noah is 22 years old today!

This photo was taken by his Mama when he was almost one year old.  What a cutie he was!  He treated us to different "stuff" than the three grandgirls.  The biggest one was being prepared while changing diapers!     Climbing ladders ...driving vehicles...being very mechanically inclined so much so that we had to hide keys... being a fussy eater...loving all things Lego.  I got in BIG trouble during his potty training times cause I told him to pee on trees....it irritated his Mother so much that he delighted in visiting many trees.

He has grown into a very kind but a bit shy handsome young man who we are very proud of!

Happy Birthday Noah!

Love you lots!

Noah : 21

Ah ...Noah our oldest grandson turns 21 today!  Such a magic number...we all remember when we were 21.

Photo taken one week shy of his 21st birthday.

It seems like we turned around once and blinked and he grew up just like that!

Noah's Mama took this photo 20 years ago in April of 2000.

Happy Birthday Noah!  You are so special and loved always!

He is our first grandchild to complete College with a four year degree.  I asked him if he planned to continue his education...he said with a smile "Not right now."

Noah's Birthday

Yesterday we drove up North to meet Noah for lunch.  We went to a place that had a buffet...the pizza was awesome!

We had a nice visit.  He is working full time and looking for another job to work on his days off during the summer.

Jen says she feels really old now that Noah is twenty years old...join the club!

Wistful Wednesday: 2009

In 2009 Noah was ten years old.  Now here we are in 2019 and he is twenty...just like that in the blink of an eye ten years have passed.
He was unsure of those rollerblades back then.

But like everything else he tries...he was soon sailing along not looking back.

He is now a Senior in College and next year at this time he should graduate.

One more aging grand in our family...he joins Savannah, Maddie and Paige as young adults....leaving Adam as our only teenage grand.

Happy 20th Birthday Dude!  We are very proud of you and love you very much!

A strange deep voice

Thursday afternoon the grands arrived, all five of them at the same time!   Chance was so excited!

We have a new tween, someone turned twelve.  Someone who used to be a little boy and whose voice I could recognize in a crowd, whose laugh I could hear from a long ways off..has changed.  There was this new deep voice, and a different laugh..and my grandma ears were confused.  Who is this new person and what have they done to my grandson?

I didn’t notice it when I talked to him on the phone..when we discussed his cake.. “How about an ice cream cake when you come over on Thursday Noah?”  He replied in his little boy voice, “Sure Grandma that would be fine, but I don’t like the frosting.”  I said “Neither do I, we will scrape that part off and just eat the ice cream” He said “good deal” ..there was no hint of a deep voice..I was clueless. He looks the same, well he might be a bit taller and a tad skinnier than the last time I saw him.  The little boy is gradually disappearing.

Noah's is twelve

A young man, with a deep voice has taken his place.  I will just have to face the fact that he is growing up:)

Airshow 2010

Yesterday we travelled up north.  We went to the Air Show that was being held up at Grand Forks Air Force Base  just outside of Grand Forks, North Dakota.  We picked up the grand- girls in the morning.  They were excited about the Air Show and Noah's Birthday..he was eleven yesterday.
Noah doesn't like to be the center of attention, but I think he had a pretty good day.  I did remind him that eleven years ago when his Grandpa and I walked into the hospital an hour after his birth, we could hear a baby screaming at the top of his lungs..it got louder and louder as we walked down the hall..finally there he was ..his Dad was giving him his first bath..what a beautiful sight..our first Grandson!  Eleven years later he is almost as tall as his mother..I predict that sometime during this eleventh year he will surpass her!

As an Air Force/NDANG family we have had the occasion to attend many airshows.  Each one is unique.  The first one we were  at was back in 1973 was at Buckley Field in Colorado.  Trica was just one year old, we sat on the hood of the pickup in a field.   In later years, I hauled two little girls by the hand one hot summer day, when the tarmac was so hot you couldn't sit down, and your feet got hot in your tennis shoes.  I made them go when they were preteens..they were so bored. Finally Far Guy and I went by ourselves, one year I mowed our entire lawn in Harwood, North Dakota while watching the Airshow..this year all our Grands went and they had a really good time!  So we have come full circle on this one..we have seen the Air Force's Thunderbirds and the Navy's  Blue Angels. We have attended with our children and now with all our Grandchildren.

Grand Forks AFB did an absolutely wonderful job welcoming the thousands of visitors to the base. Everyone we encountered was friendly, going above and beyond the call of duty to make everyone feel welcome.  It was lots of walking, and I am a little tired today..a good tired after a good day.
Chance stayed with Miney and Little Elvis while we were at the Airshow...he is tired today too..I wonder how long he serenaded the neighborhood.   He can howl quite mournfully, and he gets Miney howling too..I am not sure about Little Elvis.  When we returned Chance was really angry with Far Guy and gave him the cold shoulder..but he was really happy to see me. Talk about a spoiled dog:)
