Fonix One plays MP3, AAC (ADTS), M4A/MP4, FLAC, and WAV (PCM 8/16/24/32-bit). All formats are resampled to 44.1kHz via a polyphase FIR resampler for high-quality Bluetooth output.

Yes! The firmware will be available for free download after launch. You'll need an ESP32-2432S028R board, a MicroSD card, and a 3D-printed case. The DIY version runs in trial mode with most features working. A $12 one-time unlock activates all premium features.

Trial mode locks the 5-band equalizer, ReplayGain, search, visualizer, animated themes, and playback position resume. All other features (library browsing, playback, playlists, podcasts, Wi-Fi file management, Bluetooth, OTA updates) work fully.

Absolutely. That's the whole point. Pair it with any Bluetooth speaker or headphones and you have a completely independent music player. You only need Wi-Fi access (phone or router) when loading new music.

In Wi-Fi mode, go to Settings in the web interface and upload the new firmware file. Click "Install" and the device handles the rest. No computer connection required.
