Montreal Steak Seasoning Marinade
To turn this Montreal seasoning mix into a steak marinade, just mix the below ingredients in a small mixing bowl and pour over the protein.
- 2 lb. chicken or beef
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 tsp Montreal steak seasoning

Substitution Options
As written, this spice mix includes dill seeds, but feel free to sub in dill weed if that’s what you have in your cabinet.
Variations
Spicy – Amp up the heat by doubling, or even tripling, the red pepper flakes.
Want A Hint of Smoke? Add in 1 Tablespoon of smoked paprika in place of the regular paprika.
Like Garlic? This homemade steak seasoning can handle a double hit of garlic powder.
Prefer Less Salt? Omit the salt and add it a 1/4 teaspoon at a time until your desired salt level is reached.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Paprika
- 2 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tbsp Kosher Salt
- 2 tbsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp Ground Coriander
- 1 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tsp Dill Seed ((*Note 1))
Instructions
- Add all the spices to a small bowl and mix to combine. Store in an air-tight container for up to 6 months.
