The only issue I see is the ribbed edges don't start until about a 1/2" down on the rod. Tube sockets aren't that deep. Not sure the cleaning ribs will be useful. Just going by the picture. Must be something out there similar but where the cleaning ribs start at the very end. H9

I don't have a specific link. I can tell you what I do. Get some of these low/no lint cleaning swabs off Amazon or your favorite electronics supplier. I usually use De-Oxit. Moisten the swab and hold your tube with gloves to keep body oils off the glass. Vigorously clean PINS, 360*. Discard swabs as they start to turn gray…

Pull them and clean the pins and if possible clean the sockets. You'd be surprised how a good cleaning can eliminate noise. If this doesn't help then you possibly could have a weak tube. I've never had more than one start to go bad on me, but I'm sure it's possible. Are these random old stock tubes? Or matched new stock…

**Bump** There were A LOT of Signal Cables sold on this forum. Looking for Analog II's (2ft) H9

To keep the dust out of unused plugs. They are removable. H9

A few more changes, or rather moving gear around. I am using the Schiit Ly3 as a pre-amp only because the AKM dac card is lacking. I replaced the op-amps in my trusty Keces DA-151 and am using that as the USB dac. Viola opened everything up even better. Today I was searching on the 'net for the values of the coupling caps…

I contemplated one, but in the end I felt they didn't do what the Puritan does and they are getting kind of old these days. I was more concerned about the age of the units as those parts tend to have a finite life. I wanted something newer in the end. I am a MIT guy, so those were the very first things I researched. H9

I bought my (4) demo (like new) Puritan Audio power cables off Usaudiomart from Audio Archon in Libertyville IL. They are a dealer too Glenpoors Audio is the dealer in Champaign, IL? H9

I have an MIT Z Chord II with network boxes on both ends. It's specifically for digital sources. It's 2 or 3M though. I'll take a look when I get home. H9

John, do yourself a favor and atleast read up on the Puritan Audio PSM's. The science behind them, what their goals are and how they are executed. What pitfalls they avoid that others fall into. Like Tom touched on, you can throw a lot of $$$ and not get the best ROI. To me and all my anecdotal research, the Puritan Audio…

Thanks, but those are too long. I still have a 6' pair of Analog II's in my stash. H9
-
Great, I prefer the analog II's if possible. But we'll see what everyone has to offer. I was thinking I have another place to check at home for the missing pair of mine. H9
-
I am interested, but let's see if anyone has analog II's. My OCD will thank me...lol. Thanks Tom

I was poking around the Signal Cable website and he sells in 2, 3, 4, 5 feet, etc. Not meters. The pair I have now must be 2ft, which is fine. The black ones are Analog I's. H9
-
The blue sheathed cables are Analog II's. That's what I'd prefer. H9

I love my Puritan Audio Labs PSM136. They make a larger PSM156. Gets great reviews and customers rave. They can be found used too. I did alot of reading and passed on both PS Audio and Shunyata. I'm using their Classic cables as well…

Most influential? That's a stretch, but I give them props for their longevity and sticking to their formula. Most marketed band; for sure. I Idolized them growing up the 70's.....then I grew up...lol. They put on a great show, perhaps one of the most entertaining in rock. If they didn't go over the top with their shtick…

Yeah, we'll see. It's probably overkill as the Meanwell units sound just fine. Perhaps the $$$ spent on a built one or self build could/should be used for other audio purchases. I'm pretty much making the dual mono ACA's and the Schiit Lyr 3 - tube pre/headphone amp w/dac my main office rig. It sounds so damn good! The…

I will say the parts buying from Mouser or Digikey or PartsConnexion can be frustrating. I know this from sourcing certain items for a Dreadnaught/X-over build and from sourcing the Tungsten Audio mod parts for my ACA's. Even if you have exact part #'s. One of the feet is missing on one of the ACA's.............christ…

Not sure I have the capability to start messing will voltage that can kill.....I could learn....lol I'd only have to buy (1) of that model LPS from Fyfaudio as it has (3) independent voltage banks. (2) of the output banks would be 24V 5A and the 3rd would be to power another streaming device I have @ 5V. You just tell them…

I'll be holding on to my vast stash based on current pricing and scarcity. I still manage to pick up a bargain or two. But you have to be diligent and scour a lot of ads on Ebay. Then asking the right questions and hopefully getting responses that actually answer your questions. Take a look at Brent Jesse's site. His…

I have those exact same stands that came with a pair of 5B's I bought from DKG999 a member here. Like 15 years ago. Exact same oak stands with spike inserts. I wonder if the stands were Polk issue? My stands are like new, where the 5B's have some wear and tear. H9

I needs a regulated supply. The switching supply is 24V 5A. This is what is recommended and sold with the kit. https://diyaudiostore.com/products/meanwell-24v-5a-psu-with-power-cord I just think a LPS with an array of caps might give more reserves. It probably is a minor difference, except I see some of the guys on DIY…

Those are tightly matched, 100% NOS with a money back guarantee. Priced right, unfortunately. He sells just about everything he gets. And he gets some of the best of the best in small quantities. Tubes have sky rocketed in price, even used tubes. H9

Still messing around. I haven't started to build my Pass ACA mono's yet. That's the first Winter project. I did manage to purchase another (fully built) Pass ACA to see how they run as mono's. This one as the first one has the upgraded parts (called the Tungsten Audio mod), so they are equal builds. I'm running them in…

At first I was a hard no, but now I see they just want to play music in front of their fans. As long as they honor Neil (and I'm sure they will) I think it's cool. 10 years since they toured and 5 years since Neil's sad passing. Not to start a huge OT discussion. I do think Led Zep did the right thing when Bonzo died. He…

BlueSound Node 2 or 3 and get the super simple to install linear supply board and a good 5V 3A linear power supply and you'll be golden. I only sold mine to get the Roon Nucleus One which is also a server, otherwise I would have kept my BlueSound Node 3 w/lps. H9

It was a bit superficial. I'd really like to read more in depth about some of the topics. I may do some research on the engineer in the article. I'm sure pages and pages could be written about these topics. H9

Hey Mike, glad to hear things are looking up. Good to hear from you again. H9
