AI Financial Wellness Coach for Māori communities, architected on the Te Whare Tapa Whā holistic-health framework — culture is in the schema, not the UI. Built solo for Riria (Missy) Te Kanawa (former KPMG NZ National Māori Sector lead, now at ASB Bank) as an independent research-pilot commission, introduced via Dr Mahsa McCauley, founder of She Sharp. Voice coaching via GPT-4o Realtime API, bilingual te reo Māori + English, 88+ AI actions, pgVector semantic search across 48 database tables. 19-user research cohort produced 181 journal entries, 35 voice sessions, and 146 AI coach messages over four months (Oct 2025 – Mar 2026). |
Solo-built production member platform for She Sharp — New Zealand's leading women-in-STEM nonprofit (charitable trust, 2,200+ registered members / 8,000+ women supported lifetime, 50+ corporate partners, 84+ events since 2014). Replaces the previous Webflow site. 648 of 748 commits (86.6%) authored solo. Headline features: GPT-4o-mini-powered AI mentor-mentee matching with five-dimensional scoring + human review, role-aware mentor / mentee / admin dashboards with dual-role support, custom Slack ecosystem (event-collector bot, volunteer webhooks, weekly stats digest, NZ funding-opportunities crawler), a Claude agent skill `sync-event-from-slack` that automates event page publication, Stripe tier billing, and full admin + audit systems. Plus three supporting projects: a Python crawler that migrated 1,748 images / 707 MB / 85 events from the old Webflow site, the Her Waka MSD-funded teaching site (Mintlify, curriculum authored solo), and a professional SEO audit on shesharp.org.nz with a 10-point recommendations report. |

AI-orchestrated post-app activation platform for GAVIGO Inc. (Delaware C-Corp; founder & CEO Saba Gecgil). Public mission: "Skip the Store. Start the Play" — eliminate the latency between user intent and interactive content delivery. Distributed system: Go orchestrator (WebSocket hub + Scorer + 7-trigger rules engine + Kubernetes client), React dashboard for live orchestration visualization, React Native / Expo mobile app with TikTok-style feed. Originally architected and shipped on **DigitalOcean managed Kubernetes (DOKS, Singapore)**, then migrated to **Google Cloud GKE (Belgium)** in a single ~30-minute production cutover (2026-03-11) when GAVIGO's Google Cloud partnership came into effect — production expertise on both clouds. Real measured performance post-migration: restore path <1 ms p50, cold path ~12 ms, 84.6% warm-pool hit rate. 360 total commits, 353 (98%) solo. As Founding Principal Engineer, Activation, Execution & AI Systems, I own the contractually-defined "Protected Technical Domain": activation systems, activation flow and execution behavior, activation-economics proof path, AI-assisted orchestration and execution-control, restore/reuse boundaries, and heavier-workload validation. |
An early-ecosystem MCP server — first commit Dec 30 2024, within a month of MCP's public launch by Anthropic in November 2024. Brings Google News search to AI assistants like Claude Desktop, Cline, and Cursor through SerpAPI, with automatic topical categorization (AI & Technology, Business, Science & Research, Healthcare, General) and multi-language / multi-region support. Listed across **10+ MCP catalogs and registries** (Smithery, mcp.so, Glama, PulseMCP top-pick, Awesome MCP Servers, MCP Server Finder, MCP Archive, Playbooks, mcpservers.org, Archestra), npm-published as `@chanmeng666/google-news-server`. Paired with a companion early server, `server-google-jobs` (first commit Dec 31 2024) — together 169 solo commits across the two servers. Beyond shipping code, I contributed early ecosystem troubleshooting via [modelcontextprotocol/servers issue #76](modelcontextprotocol/servers#76) (opened Nov 27 2024) — the Windows + NVM PATH workaround referenced in both server READMEs as primary troubleshooting guidance. |

Chan's problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are remarkable. She consistently delivered high-quality work, and her coding proficiency was evident in every stage of the development process. She is also incredibly intelligent and driven, always eager to explore new technologies and methodologies, including the latest AI tools and AI agents, which speaks to her commitment to continuous learning and innovation. "Chan Meng is an outstanding Senior AI/ML Infrastructure Engineer whose work consistently combines speed, security, and strategic foresight. She delivers complex, high-impact systems with precision and grace. She's integrated enterprise AI tools like IBM's watsonx, refining vector databases, or optimizing UX flows for production readiness. What truly sets Chan apart is her principled approach to software engineering. She embeds data privacy into the core architecture, ensuring that client agency, trust, and resilience are never afterthoughts. Chan brings structure and calm to ambiguity, advocates for documentation and transparency, and fosters a culture of accountability and focus. Despite operating across time zones, she remains fully present, responsive, and proactive — turning potential collaboration friction into a model of asynchronous excellence. In every sense, Chan is the kind of engineer who elevates those around her."
