Describe the bug
The file had these settings:
- DB Format: KDBX 4
- Algo: AES 256-bit
- Key Derivation: Argon2id
- Memory Usage: 512 MB
- Parallel threads: 2
- Transform Rounds: 10
I just changed these (using KeePassXC):
- memory usage to → 2048MB
- Parallelism to → 8
- Transform rounds to → 50
It of course takes much more time to open in KeePassXC but it opens just fine but in case of MacPass it instantly throws:
Key derivation failed (1034)
Expected behavior
A bit of delay is expected but it should be able to decrypt the file and open it.
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- macOS: Tahoe 26.6.1
- MacPass 0.8.2
Additional context
I notice at the time of decrypting the RAM usage of KeePassXC spikes to ≈2GB from the usual ≈140MB and then comes back to the usual. But MacPass RAM usage never goes up so possibly it is not even trying.
