PasteDesk

A clipboard manager that lives on your macOS desktop wallpaper — not in the Dock, not in the menu bar. Always visible, never in the way.

What makes it different

Every other clipboard manager hides behind a menu bar icon or requires a hotkey to summon it. PasteDesk renders directly on your wallpaper like a widget. You glance at your desktop, your clipboard history is right there.

Features:

  • Desktop widget — sits below all windows, above the wallpaper. Always on screen
  • Smart detection — auto-classifies URLs, code, images, API keys, addresses, tracking numbers, hex colors, plain text
  • Date filters — filter by Today / Yesterday / This Week in one click
  • Privacy mode — one hotkey blanks all content for screen recordings or screen sharing
  • Pin items — keep frequently used snippets at the top permanently
  • Global hotkeys — show/hide, toggle privacy (fully customizable, no Accessibility permission required)
  • Persists across reboots
  • No Dock icon, no menu bar icon — zero UI chrome

Requirements

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later
