Patient tracking and fetching previous patient images from PACS. RIS is also used for Creating radiologist reports, transcriptions, communicating with PACS to find images and film archiving. Each component talks to one another through Digital imaging and communication in medicine (DICOM) and Health Level-7 (HL7).
