firstly thank you for making this project, I had similar plans for far far too long and never the motivation to match.
I've met the steam / proton but that would kill my steam games
I suspect my old RFID module wasn't of great quality and would flip between the RFID tag being detected and removed.
So I stored the RFID in the EEPROM of the Arduino and used that as the last read tag.
I've only tested it for a 30min at a time, but so far so good
