Allow forcing of fluent prompts on disconnected RDP sessions
#2350
We have Windows 365 Cloud PCs (basically AVD) that I am deploying applications to and I need the users to see the see the prompts even if they are disconnected.
In v3, we could display prompts on disconnected RDP sessions so that the user could action them when they reconnected. The new fluent prompts in v4 fail to see disconnected sessions as "active" and are skipped with the message "there is no active user logged onto the system".
Adding the ability to "force" prompts to show on disconnected sessions would remedy this. The current -force parameter will bypass non-interactive mode but not inactive users.
Just a suggestion but adding something like a "-forcevalidsession" parameter to prompts that allows the toolkit to see disconnected sessions as valid would be ideal. That way there is an option to include them or not.
# Bypass if in non-interactive mode.
if ($adtSession -and $adtSession.IsNonInteractive() -and !$Force)
{
& $Script:CommandTable.'Write-ADTLogEntry' -Message "Bypassing $($MyInvocation.MyCommand.Name) \[Mode: $($adtSession.DeployMode)\]. Message: $Message"
return
}
# Bypass if no one's logged on to answer the dialog.
if (!($runAsActiveUser = & $Script:CommandTable.'Get-ADTClientServerUser' -AllowSystemFallback))
{
& $Script:CommandTable.'Write-ADTLogEntry' -Message "Bypassing $($MyInvocation.MyCommand.Name) as there is no active user logged onto the system."
return
}
