FrEDI

The Framework for Evaluating Damages and Impacts (FrEDI), estimates the annual physical and economic impacts of temperature change to the US, through the 21st century (and optionally through 2300).

NOTICE: In December 2025, EPA made changes to select Agency webpages and removed the webpage disseminating the FrEDI model and technical documentation, as part of a broader effort to better align with the current Administration’s priorities. This code repository serves to maintain transparency of technical Agency work products by archiving previously published material that was subject to public and external peer review.

In June 2025, EPA received a request for correction (RFC) of information within FrEDI, pursuant to EPA’s Guidelines for Ensuring and Maximizing the Quality, Objectivity, Utility, and Integrity of Information Disseminated by the EPA, also called the Information Quality Guidelines (IQG). In April 2026, EPA closed the RFC and posted the Agency’s response to EPA’s IQG webpage: https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2026-04/rfc-25001-technical-document-on-fredi_final-response-letter_signed.pdf
