Welcome

Welcome to the Embodied Perception and Planning Group (EPP), part of the Visual Information Process and Learning Group (VIPL) under the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing at the Institute of Computing Technology (ICT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Our laboratory is led by Prof. Meina Kan, Shiguang Shan, Xilin Chen and is dedicated to cutting-edge research in the field of embodied intelligence.

Introduction

The Embodied Perception and Planning Group focuses on researching how intelligent agents perceive, understand, and plan actions through interaction with the environment. Our research spans multiple fields including computer vision, robotics, reinforcement learning, and more, aiming to develop intelligent systems capable of adapting to complex environments. The laboratory adheres to open and innovative research principles, providing an excellent research environment for graduate students and researchers.

Research Directions

Our main research directions include: embodied perception, multimodal learning, robot autonomous navigation, human-computer interaction, and more. By combining advanced technologies such as deep learning and reinforcement learning, we are committed to solving perception, cognition, and decision-making problems for intelligent agents in the real world.

Our research is built around embodied platforms such as guide-assistance systems for the visually impaired, quadruped robots, and humanoid robots, spanning both academic research and system construction.
