Hey — I'm Mostafa

Robotics Field Engineer @ Wayve · Tokyo

Physical AI, real roads, and the messy bit between "it works in the garage" and "it's safe outside."

Wayve LinkedIn Academic site YouTube Portfolio

If you found me through a PR, an issue, or a random commit — welcome. I'm not trying to sound like a press release; I just like things that work in the real world and paper over fewer surprises when software meets metal.

What I'm doing these days

Most of my energy goes into getting autonomous vehicles from "built" to "trustworthy on the road" — bring-up, calibration, checking that releases behave the way we think they do, and chasing the weird edge cases (signals, sensors, timing, the stuff that only shows up when you're not in sim). I also spend a fair amount of time on safety and operations: when something goes wrong, you want people who've already seen the movie — I'm one of the people in that loop.

I still get a kick out of understanding the whole stack, not just my corner. Robots were never supposed to be single-file problems.

Before that (short version)

~3 years at Rapyuta Robotics in Tokyo — AMRs and autonomous forklifts, lots of Japan sites, lots of nights keeping fleets happy, and a few projects I’m still proud of (automation around testing/deploy, and cutting network setup pain with an on-robot LTE idea that actually stuck).

Tools I reach for a lot

Python, C++, Docker, Git, Linux, TypeScript, VS Code

ROS    Grafana

Plus whatever internal tooling the day throws at me — you know how it is.
