annoying forced features breaking base steam os functionality #946
Description
On two differnt steam os installs this plugin forcing the scans and forcing the game themes break steam os UI sounds. Uninstalling nonsteamlaunchers doesn't fix the issue forcing user to do a complete steam os reinstall to fix.
I seriously don't know why this thing is pushing the features and doesn't offer them. I simply want to one click install non steam launchers...not anything else...
sorry this is written this way but I am really mad having steam audio broken with no way fixing it other than doing a complete reinstall...

I cannot install the decky plugin because it says it fails to validate against sudo password...which is nonsense because I've changed sudo password, used it for multiple purposes. The plugin never asks for one just errors out...so I have to use the desktop version of the tool. The desktop version of the tool pushes in the scanning icon into steam...WHY? Why can't I just install the launchers without anything being injected into the application.
The worse thing is the desktop version pushes the sounds to the library by default and I am 100% positive this thing breaks Steam UI sounds because since I've installed launchers through this tool the Steam UI sounds no longer work. Uninstalling nonsteamlaunchers doesn't fix it so I had to reinstall whole Steam OS.

is there any proof of this, you havent mentioned what is exactly breaking?? @Ragy9x what do you mean breaks sound ui?

Navigation in Steam OS Gamemode makes UI sounds which can be enabled or disabled in audio options in game mode. These UI Steam OS sounds DO NOT WORK after installing nonsteamlaunchers. I am on my 3rd install now and only thing that has changed is that I did not install nonsteamlaunchers.

@Ragy9x are you using just the Desktop Version? NonSteamLaunchers.desktop and not the plugin version correct? And this bug only happens in Game Mode and Not Desktop Mode?

@Ragy9x fixed the plugin installer just now, but I cant seem to replicate your audio issue. Feel free to try to install the Plugin Version again.

so does installing the plugin into decky loader work now? I also had a problem with the installation and a problem with SUDO...

@moraroy This is not the first time they have installed this plugin. I have my sudo password. I have installed many other plugins in Decky and your plug-in worked before that and they always install it without any problems in the same way as so many times before... but the installer never asks me for the password. Could there be a problem there?

@tynyczech there is only one file to install the plugin. Its called NSLPlugin.desktop which runs and installer called NSLPluginInstaller.sh

I know which file to use. Of course I used nslplugin.desktop, unfortunately it has a problem with the desktop version, the problem is not Theresa
