Noto Sans Arabic and Noto Kufi Arabic don't include the Middle Eastern currency sign characters added to latest Unicode versions. These characters are Saudi Riyal Sign (, U+20C1, added on Unicode 17.0), UAE Dirham Sign (, U+20C3, added on Unicode 18.0) and Omani Rial Sign (, U+20C4, added on Unicode 18.0)

Noto Sans Arabic and Noto Kufi Arabic should add Saudi Riyal Sign (, U+20C1, added on Unicode 17.0), UAE Dirham Sign (, U+20C3, added on Unicode 18.0) and Omani Rial Sign (, U+20C4, added on Unicode 18.0).

These currency signs were launched by local central banks in those countries and added or slated to be added in the next weeks to the Unicode Standard.

Supporting this request. U+20C4 OMANI RIAL SIGN was accepted by the UTC on 2026-01-22 for Unicode 18.0. The Central Bank of Oman publishes the official artwork and rules for typeface designers, including digit-height alignment and placement to the left of the numeral, at https://cbo.gov.om/omrsymbol. The Noto fonts are the fallback for this character on Android and Google Fonts, so coverage here matters for products that cannot rely on OS fonts.
