Request to add calligraphic/script and Fraktur letters #549
This is a request to add the script/calligraphic and Fraktur letters to the Noto Sans Mono fonts. These are used in mathematics and can also be used in theorem prover software such as Lean.
I already see some of glyphs in the font (in the Letterlike symbols block), but these are modulated. Note that the glyphs need to be unmodulated since the surrounding Noto Sans Mono font is unmodulated. These glyphs can also be used in the Noto Sans Math fonts (after removing their monospaceness).
There's no reason for these characters to be in this font. Noto Sans is not expected to cover all of Unicode, and is meant to be used in a fallback stack. Other fonts in the Noto collection (Noto Sans Math) cover these characters.
Yes, requests to Noto Sans Mono are to be made in this repository, right? Monospace fonts are used in mathematical and programming contexts where Noto Sans Math cannot be used. Btw, currently the script and Fraktur glyphs in Noto Sans Math are still unmodulated, due to historical misunderstandings.

The requests concerns Noto Sans Mono, not regular Noto Sans
