I'm using owntone with its web interface. Recently, I stepped about your JSON API documentation.

This is not that far away from the opensubsonic REST API (that is based on the subsonic API in turn). Perhaps it would be an idea to implement it.

The advantage of this would be that by implementing the API, owntone would become compatible with most of the subsonic clients that exits today, e.g. like airsonic-refix, symfonium, dsub, jamstash, subsonic.el, sublime music, soundwaves, stmp, termsonic, strawberry, and ultrasonic.
