Link Checker v3.1.6 still mangles escape characters in markdown links

See this markdown from our docs:

...and no [encapsulation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encapsulation\_\(computer\_programming\)).

In github's markdown reader, it renders as so:

...and no encapsulation.

but the Link Checker appears to replace the backslashes with forward slashes, which breaks the link:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encapsulation_/(computer/_programming/)
