[BUG]: high RAM and CPU consumption since upgrade to 0.22.18 #548

What happened?

ps aux shows a very high RAM and CPU consumption by ./cosmos

What should have happened?

Low consumption

How to reproduce the bug?

1. Ssh into server
2. sudo su
3. ps aux | grep cosmos
