Fair point, and it turned out to be a clean fit — implemented in 1dee48b, landing in 0.2.

There is now a Created by Alias text box in the editor's Article properties sidebar, between Tags and Meta description. It maps to Joomla's created_by_alias, so an empty value credits the publishing account as before, and anything you type in becomes the by-line. It travels with the article everywhere it should: saved with the local article, read back when you open an existing one from the site, pushed on publish, and carried in .grafida export/import files.

One behaviour worth flagging, since it is the bit most likely to surprise: clearing the field really does clear it on the site. Grafida sends the attribute on every publish rather than only when non-empty, because Joomla's API backfills any column you omit from a PATCH out of the existing record — so an omitted empty alias would silently keep the old one forever.

@brianteeman — could you please give it a test when you get a chance? I have driven it end-to-end locally (renders, saves, survives a reload, clears properly) and checked the write path against the Joomla 5.4 source, but I have not yet published against a live site with it, so that is where a second pair of eyes would help most. Building from main will get you it.
