Yes. This project does not seem to support API tokens with Scope, which is documented here: https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-account/docs/manage-api-tokens-for-your-atlassian-account/
Describe the solution you'd like

For API tokens with scope, add a --cloud-id field and prepare requests to {{https://api.atlassian.com/ex/jira/{cloudId}}, instead of individual domain names

    @adrian-gierakowski

    yeah, it would be great to be able to use a read only token when using with ai agents

    Looks like it's possible to get it working with scoped API tokens:

    jira init \
            --installation cloud \
            --server https://api.atlassian.com/ex/jira/<your cloud id here> \
            --login <your email here> \
            --force

    This worked for me!

    The scopes I gave it were:

    read:account
    read:jira-user
    read:jira-work
    read:me
    read:board-scope:jira-software
    read:project:jira

    Added scoped token support (jira init --scoped-token) in my fork: rethab#45
