MiniLab Mk2 for Bitwig

BWExtension for the Arturia MiniLab MkII so you can get some nice features in your newly purchased MiniLab MkII. (Originally written in 2021 - 2022)

Pleased to say this still compiles!

Initially used these 2 scripts as reference and guidance, without them I couldn't have written this.

bynchon: Repo

bequadro: Repo

Requisites:

  • Put every knob (or at least 1 to 4, 9 to 12, 16 and whichever knob you use to move transport) on Relative #1 inside the Arturia Midi Control Center

Features:

  • Knobs 1 to 4, and 9 to 12: with these, you will control the device macros. So for any synth or plugin, you only need to create various controller pages. And depending on which one is selected, the script will auto-adapt. In this way, with only 8 knobs, you can control 100% of your parameters. The best thing is that the knobs in the controller are in the same position as in Bitwig macros pages. It's super intuitive! And of course, you can also create control devices for your iOS apps, if you have your iPad connected to your Mac via Studiomux.

  • If you set a Knob to relative and put the cc number to 85 you can move the transport. This is done in the Arturia Midi Control Center. It cant be any knob thats 1 to 4 or 9 to 12, I use Knob 5.

  • Knob 16 will control the volume of the current selected track.

  • Knobs 6 to 7, and 13 to 15, are freely assignable.

  • With Shift+Knob 1, you will zoom in or out.

  • With Shift+Knob 9, you will reset the volume of the selected track to its default value.

  • Clicking the Knob 1 will solo the track.

  • Ling clicking Knob 1 will make you enter Utility mode, long click again to get out of it.

  • Clicking the Knob 9 will open or close the VST plugin window. Ideal for live performances/streaming, if you want to show what you are doing in your session via a monitor.

  • By default Pads work as your standard drum pad.

  • In utility mode the pads will have the following features:

    First page

    • Pad 1: Mute (No color)
    • Pad 2: Solo (Purple)
    • Pad 3: Loop (Cyan)
    • Pad 4: Next/Down a track (White)
    • Pad 5: Previous/Up a track (White)
    • Pad 6: Stop (Blue)
    • Pad 7: Play (Yellow)
    • Pad 8: Record (Red)

    Second page

    • Pad 9: Previous subpanel (Yellow)
    • Pad 10: Undo (Red)
    • Pad 11: Previous Macro Page (Blue)
    • Pad 12: Previous Device (Cyan)
    • Pad 13: Next Device (Cyan)
    • Pad 14: Next Macro Page (Blue)
    • Pad 15: Redo (Red)
    • Pad 16: Next subpanel (Yellow)

    Misc:

    • Long Press of knob 9 in this mode will show the remote control pages.
