Fold your own wish for our community! Join us in our drop-in sessions to fold one thousand cranes together — each one is a symbol of hope, healing, and connection. In Japanese culture, cranes represent longevity, happiness, good fortune. The tradition of folding 1,000 origami cranes, Senbazuru (千羽鶴), is believed to bring blessings. Take a square of paper, follow the steps, and add your crane. One fold at a time, we carry the tradition forward! For all ages. Completed cranes will be on display in the library.

It is designed for emergent communicators five years old and up (emergent communicators are new/existing AAC users who typically communicate with single words). Open to children of all abilities! 

A parent/caregiver must accompany the child for all the sessions. Reading Buddies provides students in grades K-5 with an opportunity to improve their reading skills by working one-on-one with a reading coach. Storytime is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers! After Storytime concludes, families are invited to Stay & Play! For 30 minutes after storytime, special, age-appropriate toys will be available to keep the fun going. The librarian will also be there to answer any questions, recommend books, and talk to families! Best for children ages 0-8 with their caregivers; all families welcome!
