Mooring is a Chrome extension that helps users organize browser tabs into lightweight workspaces using the Chrome side panel, tab groups, and bookmarks.
Mooring does not collect, sell, share, or transmit user data to the developer or to third parties.
The extension uses Chrome extension APIs to access tab titles, tab URLs, tab group information, and user-created bookmarks only for the purpose of providing workspace organization features. This information is processed locally in the user's browser.
Mooring uses tab and bookmark information to:
- Display workspace pages in the side panel
- Organize tabs into Chrome tab groups
- Save user-selected workspace pages as Chrome bookmarks
- Move tabs between temporary windows and the main workspace window
Mooring does not sell, transfer, or share user data with third parties.
Mooring does not execute remote code. All extension code is packaged with the extension and runs locally in Chrome.
The source code for Mooring is publicly available at https://github.com/bramblex/Mooring so users and reviewers can inspect how the extension handles data.
Workspace structure and pinned workspace pages are stored using Chrome bookmarks. Lightweight local extension state may be stored in Chrome local storage. Runtime information such as the main window and open tab bindings is kept locally and is not transmitted externally.
