EDIT: something about saving/loading the preferences seems to be crashing on 68k machines. Workaround: delete the preferences file or use 0.8.9.

Very basic unicode support (turns all non-ASCII characters into a ◊). This means a rogue unicode character won't mess up all your text alignment anymore.

Other fixes and usability improvements:
