I studied Electrical Engineering at San Jose State University. I focused on designing circuits and embedded systems during which I was exposed to building programs using C/C++. I also taught myself Python π which helped me to work as a Data Analytics intern at EPRI for 1.5 years. Wanting to move into the tech industry, I attended App Academy's Full Stack Software Engineering program where I learned to design and build web applications from the ground up using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Express, React, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- As an Application Engineer I, I worked within an Agile team to build user experiences for new onboarding clients and help move monolithic web services to the cloud as well as building new REST APIs.
- The backend services were built using Java and Spring/Jersey, while the frontend is built in Angular and NestJS. The developer workflows include sprint planning, retrospectives, writing high quality code with unit, integration, & end to end tests, code reviews, performance testing and working with CI/CD to push code to production.
- Some of the tools used day to day include Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo, Postman, Cypress (End to end testing framework), Splunk, AWS DynamoDB, ECS, Cloudwatch, etc.
- As a backend Software Engineer, I worked within Genesys Cloud services which offers Contact Center as a service (CCaaS). I worked in a team that handles integration of 3rd party apps such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, RingCentral, etc. within the Genesys Cloud app.
- Design and development of event driven architectures and serverless applications that expose public APIs which are ultimately used by CCaaS customers to build their own applications.
- Tech stack includes Node.js with Typescript, Java, Serverless framework, Kafka, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, etc.
Working on improving Dependabot Alerts as a Software Engineer III:
- Dependabot alerts now surface if your code is calling a vulnerability
- Dependabot alerts show all affected files for vulnerable function calls (Python Beta)
- Dependabot alerts: timeline of events on the alert details page
- Dependabot alerts: optional dismissal comment
- Dependabot alerts REST API
- Dependabot alerts Organizational level REST API
- Dependabot alerts default permissions change
