Data Visualization: Interaction

Learning Outcomes

Learners will acquire the knowledge and fundamental skills needed to use interaction in data visualization. Through guided examples and exercises using altair (a Python interface to Vega-Lite), participants will learn how use and respond to different types of selections and interactions. Specific outcomes include:

  1. Be able to understand the importance of selection and highlighting
  2. Be able to add point and interval selection to altair visualizations
  3. Be able to add highlighting to selected marks using altair
  4. Be able to add brushing between two visualizations using altair
