Here you will find many resources for Drobo devices. Since the company has gone bankrupt, releases of software and firmware are difficult to find. I will try to store everything I can here. This will include: the complete package of DroboApps as delivered by Drobo Inc; Drobo Dashboard software for Windows and Mac; and Firmware versions for most devices.

DroboApps The final package of apps for Drobo NAS devices can be found here: https://github.com/dhomas1/DroboApps/releases/tag/DroboApps.

This is the final package of all DroboApps for 2nd generation Drobo NAS devices (SDK 2.x). These should work on Drobo 5N, 5N2, and 810n. There are newer versions of some of these apps delivered by the community, but these are the final versions of the apps as delivered by Drobo Inc. I am storing them here as they are no longer available from Drobo since their bankruptcy.

These are all the versions of Drobo Dashboard for Windows and Mac I could find across the web, along with their release notes. Interesting notes: Version 3.6.1 was the final release for Mac (no Windows release of this version exists). It added support for Apple Silicon and still works on modern MacOS. Version 3.5.0 was the final version for Windows. It works on Windows 11. Version 2.6.2 for Mac was the final version that includes ATTOs iSCSI initiator. Version 1.8.4 was the final version released alongside Drobo Gen 1 (newer versions of Dashboard may still work). Might also be useful for DroboShare (aka Sled).

Instructions on Manually Updating Firmware (adapted from the now defunct Drobo Website)

1. Download the appropriate firmware file for your Drobo product from this repository, saving it to a folder that is not located on your Drobo device. If there is only one firmware file (a zip file), this file functions for both the Mac and Windows-based computers.

Please ensure that you have read and write privileges to this folder.

2. Launch Drobo Dashboard and select the appropriate Drobo device from the All Drobos page. Also, if applicable, log in to this Drobo device.

3. Click the Tools option on the Navigation menu for the selected Drobo device to open the Tools page.

4. In the Software Updates area, click the Manual Update option.

A warning message opens, asking you to complete or stop any data transfers.

5. Ensure that the Drobo device is not actively transferring data (blinking yellow and green), and then click the OK button.

A dialog box opens, asking you to locate the zip file on your computer.

6. Please do so and then click the Open or OK button.

Drobo installs the firmware. When finished, a message opens, asking you to reboot your Drobo device to complete the installation.

7. Click the Yes button.

Drobo shuts down and restarts after the new firmware is installed.

Please note: The Drobo 5D was sometimes also referred to as the 5D mini and some of the firmware files and release notes were originally released with this name. The 5Dt is a refreshed version of the 5D which adds Thunderbolt 2.0, instead of the 5D's Thunderbolt 1.0, as well as an included 128GB mSATA SSD (the SSD was optional and sold separately on the 5D). All three models (5D, 5D mini, and 5Dt) use the same firmware. For consistency's sake, I named all files with the '5D' tag.

Please note: Firmware versions 4.3.1 and 4.3.0 were pulled from circulation by Drobo engineers shortly after release due to some user-reported issues. They were supposed to be re-released, but Drobo went bankrupt before a fix could be produced. It is recommended to use the last known good firmware, 4.2.1

Please note: Firmware versions 4.3.1 and 4.3.0 were pulled from circulation by Drobo engineers shortly after release due to some user-reported issues. They were supposed to be re-released, but Drobo went bankrupt before a fix could be produced. It is recommended to use the last known good firmware, 4.2.2
