closes #249

@blakecaldwell could you push directly to this branch and set up the "install dependencies" part. I'm not too familiar with this for HNN. Decided to go with Github Actions because it's the future anyway and most projects are switching to it

sounds like a good path forward, but maybe this is something @rythorpe or @ntolley can do instead...

Actions are enabled. LMK if you don't have any permissions. You should be an admin member.

Looks like the Pyqt install is failing? I'll need to readup on troubleshooting github actions...
