There's currently a series of openings named after the Czech city formerly known as Carlsbad or Karlsbad (currently Karlovy Vary). Sometimes they are spelt "Carlsbad" sometimes "Karlsbad". I would suggest to unify the spelling toward "Carlsbad", since it seems to be the more established one with regards to chess today (cf.
