This looks great, thank you so much Hendrik! I just updated the changelog as well, but I think there might come a few additional fixes, so I set the version as "in progress" for now. I will merge and then we can use the dev-version, which will preliminarily be 1.0.4-b. |

Instead of changing numpy floating point error handling globally on package load use a context manager to temporarily change error handling as needed.
