Tried in pygfx/pygfx#1276, looks like it's not. I know the cause now. Will write a test and fix the problem when I have time. |

In pygfx/pygfx#1276 the process seems to hang after getting the default device. Let's try to replicate here. Edit: replicated, added regression test, fixed.
