I got into frontend development because I love creating things that look good and feel right. But somewhere along the way, I realised that a beautiful interface means nothing if not everyone can use it.
That's what drew me to accessibility — and kept me there.
I'm a frontend developer with a deep specialization in web accessibility, holding the IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) credential. I work in React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Tailwind, and I bring the same care to semantic structure, keyboard navigation, focus management, and ARIA as I do to every other part of the UI.
For me, accessibility isn't about compliance. It's about ethics. It's about the developer who doesn't think about it yet — and the user who pays the price. Some of the most impactful fixes are also the simplest ones. A missing label. A broken focus order. A button that only works with a mouse. Small things that make a huge difference to real people — and that's exactly why I'm passionate about sharing this knowledge and helping other developers get it right.
Because accessibility isn't just for people with disabilities. It's for everyone.
In practice that looks like:
- Building React components with semantics, ARIA, and keyboard support from the start
- Running WCAG 2.2 audits and turning findings into fixes teams can actually act on
- Testing with real screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) — not just automated tools
- Embedding accessibility into design systems and component libraries
- Teaching and collaborating with developers, designers, and QA
- Helping teams navigate EAA compliance from an engineering perspective
I care about who can use what I build — and I bring that into every project.
