OpenXMB 0.1.0 Beta 1

This is a very early developer beta for people who want to try OpenXMB and help validate the first cross-platform packaging path.

Downloads

  • Windows x64: OpenXMB-0.1.0-beta.1-windows-x64.zip
    • Extract the zip and run XMS.bin.exe.
    • Requires a Vulkan-capable GPU and current graphics drivers.
  • Linux x64: OpenXMB-0.1.0-beta.1-linux-x64.tar.gz
    • Built and smoke-tested on Ubuntu 26.04 via WSL.
    • Extract the tarball and run bin/XMS.
    • This is a distro-style package, not a fully self-contained AppImage yet; it expects the system SDL2, FFmpeg, Vulkan, and related runtime libraries to be installed.

macOS is not included in this prerelease yet. The source is tagged so a macOS x64 package can be produced from a Mac later.

Validation

  • Windows x64 Release build completed with the vcpkg dependency path.
  • Linux x64 Release build completed with Clang/Ninja.
  • Linux headless render smoke test passed under Xvfb.
