Conventions

  • The project is supposed to deploy with mix release introduced in Elixir 1.9
  • The application is supposed to be located at /app, no matter what name the project is.
  • Environment variable APP_NAME represents the project name, such as my_app for instance.

What if I need more programs pre-installed?

You can extend this image with your own set of programs. For example, let's say we need image libraries so we can deal with user uploaded images. You can write your Dockerfile like this:

FROM qhwa/elixir-runner:latest

RUN apk update --no-cache && \
  apk add --no-cache \
    libpng \
    libpng-dev \
    libjpeg-turbo-utils \
    pngquant
