[mono-repo-merge] Move linux-loader to rust-vmm #19

Closed

Description

@olivereanderson
  • Open PR with the merge of linux-loader into rust-vmm

    • In linux-loader/Cargo.toml, change the repository field to repository.workspace = true
    • In linux-loader/Cargo.toml, change all dependencies for rust-vmm crates that are part of the workspace to use the local path in addition to the version (i.e. vm-memory = { path = "../vm-memory", version = "0.18.0" })
    • Update CODEOWNERS
    • Update gitignore if needed
    • Update audit.toml (check whether it's ok to have one per crate instead of one in root)
    • Update github workflows
  • Post Merge Actions

    • Move all issues still open from to the rust-vmm repo
      • Open each single issue
      • Click on -> Transfer issue button
      • Select rust-vmm repo
    • Ask to move open PRs
      • Close the PR (there is no way to move them)
      • Leave a message for the author asking to re-open it in the new rust-vmm repo (e.g. @ <pr-author> are you still interested in getting this PR merged? If yes, could you please re-open it in https://github.com/rust-vmm/rust-vmm/. We moved <original-repo> there.)
    • Move security advisors (it seems there is no way to move them, so we need to close and re-create)
      • Add a reference to the original one
      • Copy all the discussions to the new one
  • Archive the repository [NOTE: only maintainers have permissions to do these actions)

    • Update the About section of the repository to specify that it's now an archive and the code was moved: "This is a public archive. The code now lives in the mono-repo: https://github.com/rust-vmm/rust-vmm/"
    • Archive the repository
