Build produces an error "undefined" is not valid JSON while processing scss #5935

Hi, didn't want to create an issue,
but need to discuss it with you

My setup is

Using Vite dev server works fine,

Building for production/development stops working and produces an error at the line src/utils/transform.ts#L77

Getting error during build: "undefined" is not valid JSON

       // strict null check allows 'null' maps to not be pushed to the chain,
        // while 'undefined' gets the missing map warning
        if (map !== null) {
            sourcemapChain.push(decodedSourcemap(typeof map === 'string' ? JSON.parse(map) : map) || {
                missing: true,
                plugin: plugin.name
            });
        }

was forced to add something like if (map !== null && map != "undefined") { to avoid later on calling JSON.parse("undefined") that eventually produces the error.

Need an understanding on what is going on here in this code.
