Based on the original QMapControl project (http://www.medieninf.de/qmapcontrol), this is an updated version of QMapControl that support Qt5.
QMapControl is a mapping library that provides a QWidget interface that you can use in your own applications.
Features:
- Maps: Supports WMS and 'Slippy' tile map services.
- Geometries: Add points, circles, lines, images and other QWidgets.
- Layers: Maps and/or geometries can be added to a layer, which can be shown/hidden as required.
- A modern C++ compiler that fully supports the C++11 standard:

Run the following commands from the root directory to build QMapControl (replace make with nmake for MSVC):
qmake prefix=INSTALL_LOCATION
makeTo install QMapControl, run:
make install
Note: INSTALL_LOCATION must be an absolute path to the install directory required.
When working on other project, it may be necessary to configure the library with special path and options. The pro files include an optional localconfig.pri file located on the top source directory. If the special variable $$top_srcdir is not defined, the library project file will define it as the top QMapControl directory, and will look there for the local config file. To customize the configuration, you can either create the localconfig.pri file in the library top dir, or, if you prefer not to touch the cloned repository, do the following:
Create a file named .qmake.conf on the top project directory with the following content:
top_srcdir=$$PWD
top_builddir=$$shadowed($$PWD)
qmake will read that file and include it in your project. Then, put your localconfig.pri in the top project directory.
This is a general approach, that can be used anywhere to customize the project without committing the local changes.
