Ok after some research i figured out that the script doesn't configure searxng to work properly so i had to take 3 steps:

  1. sudo nano /etc/uwsgi/apps-enabled/searxng.ini
  2. Comment this line: socket = /usr/local/searxng/run/socket and substitute it with http = 127.0.0.1:8888
  3. sudo systemctl restart uwsgi

and now it works.
Can somebody please explain me why that file isn't configured that way by default?
