Sigilweaver exists to build resilient infrastructure that benefits humanity through the sciences. I develop high-performance, open-source data tooling to replace the slow, fragmented, and proprietary pipelines currently holding scientific research back.

The Problem We Are Solving

Right now, bioinformaticians running pipelines on Linux HPCs are often forced to rely on convoluted workarounds. They use tools that wrap other tools, which wrap proprietary vendor libraries, all running through translation layers like Wine and Mono.

Because of this bloat, simply reading a 20GB raw proteomics file can take hours. In the modern tabular data space, 20GB files are memory-mapped and scanned in seconds. My tools bypass the bloat, native-compiling these processes to turn hours of compute time into minutes or seconds.

The Reality of the Work

Building this level of high-performance tooling for genomics, proteomics, and enterprise data is intensely resource-heavy. Right now, this entire operation runs off a single server with a 100TB storage pool - an extremely expensive piece of hardware I purchased entirely out of pocket.

Reverse-engineering undocumented binary formats, compiling native Rust and C++ pipelines, and processing these massive datasets requires serious compute power, robust physical storage, and thousands of hours of dedicated time.
