Welcome to rebelScience

Hi, I'm rebelCoder, and this is rebelScience—a project dedicated to making Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, and Programming accessible to everyone through open-source education.

My journey is driven by a passion for science and a belief that knowledge should be freely available to all. Join me as we explore the future of science together.

My Mission and Principles

My work is fundamentally driven by a deep interest in longevity, life extension, and understanding the mechanisms that govern living systems. This overarching goal shapes my research interests and is guided by several core principles:

Open-Source First

I am a strong advocate for Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS). Science and education should never be trapped behind paywalls or proprietary ecosystems. My goal is to build tools, educational resources, and communities that empower anyone to learn, create, and contribute.

Science-Based Nutrition

I advocate for an ethical, cruelty-free, plant-based approach to nutrition grounded in scientific evidence and critical thinking.

My Work and Research

As a bioinformatician, I primarily work with Python and Rust to develop computational models, educational resources, and open-source software.

My primary areas of interest include:

  • Cell signaling and bioelectricity
  • Morphogenesis, tissue regeneration, and organ regeneration
  • Longevity and life-extension research
  • Computational biology and bioinformatics
  • Open-source scientific software
  • Research emerging from Michael Levin's Lab at Tufts University (a major source of inspiration)

I document my learning journey and research through articles, videos, devlogs, and open-source projects.

What You'll Find Here

This website serves as the central hub for the rebelScience project.

You can expect to find:

  • In-depth tutorials on bioinformatics, programming, and scientific computing
  • Educational article series and learning pathways
  • Videos and development logs accompanying projects and research
  • Open-source software and code walkthroughs
  • Reviews of books, courses, tools, and learning resources
  • Community discussions and knowledge sharing
  • Coming soon: Interactive bioinformatics tools that can be used directly from the website
