this is a very simple and small 
OpenCms Module

The result is a plain html output with the value

  1
  
... 0 connection to Database (pool) is broken
... 1 Connection to Database (pool) is working

What is this good for ?
It's used to check website health by external monitoring (like nagios)
and not only on http requests 200 or 400.
